About the Game
The Cyclist: Tactics is a compelling, turn-based pro-cycling simulation with highly-customisable, user-friendly rider and team management. Manage your riders' races and career progression, build your team’s prestige and ride to victory in an infinitely-replayable board game representation of professional cycling.
The Race - Your Decisions Matter
The Cyclist: Tactics breaks with traditional sports management games, in that the racing itself is the focus of the gameplay, rather than a distraction. Guide your team through multi-day tours, gruelling classics and blisteringly fast time trials, while contending with challenging terrain. Use your team’s strengths to your advantage, and plan your strategy to offset their weaknesses. Realistic tactics are vital; use positioning within the field and slipstreaming to ensure your riders are in position to press your advantage when the time is right. Balance your riders’ resource use between keeping up with the field, versus making the big push for the win, while ensuring they aren’t exhausted for the next day’s stage!Career Mode - From Humble Beginnings, To The Top
Start your rider in the amateur cycling circuit, building a team from local riders, and attracting a sponsor. Build your team’s prestige with good results and attract more attention both from prospective riders as well as more lucrative sponsors. Hire and fire your riders, scout new talent and develop them with an innovative RPG-style progression system into the superstars that will propel your team to the top of the professional cycling world.The Game World - Your Secret Teammate
From punishing climbs in the mountain passes of Hetvesia, winding through the challenging cobblestone streets of northern Gasmea, to brutally hot time trials in the deserts of Dalluha, the unique and varied game world of The Cyclist: Tactics gains a life of its own, becoming a friend - or an enemy - during your journey to the top of the professional cycling tour. The Cyclist: Tactics uses intelligent procedural generation to create the stages upon which you race, allowing for nearly infinite and meaningful variation in landscape and terrain. Use the flat smooth roads in a given stage to conserve your resources, or mount your charge over the rough cobbles while your opponents are forced to back off - playing your strengths off the game world is vital to success!Screenshots

Hotfix V1.4.13 Fixes
In the end it turned out to be something as trivial as a mouse pointer deactivation function not working anymore! The little things...
Anyway, have fun with the game!

Version 1.4.6
May 29, 2023
We've managed to localize and circumvent the bug that was causing the game to crash on some Mac systems. It is a specific shader (rendering the shadows on the slopes) that is causing the issue and switching it off will result in the game running as intended. This is now possible in the latest version of the game.
Note 1: If you do not experience this crash when launching into any race or tutorial on a track, then you can ignore this and don't need to do anything!
Note 2: We'll look into rewriting the shader so that the crash doesn't appear. Due to the long iteration times involved due to us not having the hardware that produces the crash, we went with a workaround first so that at least you can play the game properly.
Unfortunately this doesn't work without your input yet. You'll need to go to the options.json file found at:
"/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/com.camshaftsoftware.cyclist"
and open that file in a text editor. Then search for the debug section. It should look like the following:
"debug":{"log_level":"warning"}
Replace that with
"debug":{"disable_slope_rendering":1.0, "log_level":"warning"}
The game should now launch and run correctly. Setting this option will remove shading effects on mountain and downhill sections, but should not effect the game in any other way.
That's it, cheers!

Version 1.4.5
May 24, 2023
We got another small patch for you, fixing some of the remaining issues. As far as we know, this puts the game into a solid state again (well... apart from what is noted below) and we can continue with improving more aspects and tweaking.
Note: We're currently investigating why on specific Mac hardware, starting any race results in a game crash. Due to this happening on a game engine level, it is very tricky to work out what is causing this. We will be flying blind in fixing this as there is direct way to debug it. We have contact with some individuals who get this type of crash and will be iterating to figure out what in the rendering pipeline causes this malfunction.
Cheers!
