Master the DRL SIM and you can compete for a chance to become a professional pilot in the Drone Racing League!
Learn to Fly Like a Pro

Get your start on the DRL SIM. An interactive training tutorial will teach you all the basic First Person View (FPV) drone maneuvers and controls to get you up in the air. Watch replays to learn how to perfect your racing lines and decrease your lap time.
True-to-Life Simulator

There is no better way to get started than to learn with true-to-life demos. DRL SIM uses advanced aerodynamic modeling, and one-to-one physics with data from real life drones, so every push and pull mimics that of a DRL drone. Fly DRL World Championship Season courses and connect your transmitter to feel the real thrill of drone racing.
Make it Your Own

You have the option to customize your journey from start to finish. Build your drone to optimize your specs using over 100 million drone combinations, then you can style your drone your way. Choose from a variety of fun skins, or purchase an animated skin, and even design a course that you can fly through.
Fly with Friends

Go head-to-head with friends around the world in cross-platform multiplayer mode. Fly to the top of the leaderboard on each map by setting the fastest time. Fly with other players by creating or joining a room, entering into hosted tournaments, and connecting with the community on Discord and Facebook.

- A few of the drones will be made unavailable until we finish collecting and implementing physics data in order to achieve the best experience.
- We are still looking into fixing the issues involved with Steam Input system, so for the time being please remember to set your Steam Input Per-Game to Forced Off .

Leaderboards reset
Due to the large changes in Physics all leaderboards have been reset. Additionally, all custom drones have been reset because we are validating the bench tests and aerodynamic profiles of all the parts in the game outside of the ones that are not included with this release. Expect more parts and more frames to be added back into the game in regular intervals.
As always we would like to thank your for your continued support of the Sim and we hope to make it even better as time goes on. It was great seeing so many of you out in Vegas for Tryouts and we hope to have even more events in the future. If you want to join the community, please feel free to join our Discord server or Facebook Group via the links on the bottom bar of the Sim. KaNoodle and FPVgan stream almost every day on our Twitch channel and are happy to help new and perspective users. If you have any issues or just need some help, feel free to reach out via the Steam Discussion Boards or on our Zendesk.
This hotfix is to reflect that 2019 Swatch DRL Tryouts qualification phase has been completed as of February 1st.
Thanks to everyone who participated.
See you in Vegas!
This hotfix is to address an inadvertent push we made on the last release which changed the Racer3 physics thereby impacting Tryouts.
We have always maintained that we wanted Tryouts to be based on a level playing field throughout the duration of the competition.
Since altered Racer3 physics can create an unequal playing field, we have reverted this change and adjusted the leaderboards accordingly.
Please note that this change does not impact the performance improvements that were included in last Thursday's release.
Thanks for all of your feedback and continued support of the Sim, if you have any issues or questions please let us know in the comments, Steam Discussion Page, or on the Help Desk.

Hello Pilots,
We hope you've been enjoying the online tournament series that we’ve been hosting on Twitch these past few weeks. We’ve certainly had some fun hosting them. This update brings a suite of bug fixes and optimizations aimed at multiplayer with a little something extra for our fantastic community map makers.
Performance and Optimization
We’ve spent some time trying to polish our multiplayer experience and reduce lag and stuttering. A few of these changes may result in improved offline performance as well for some users.
Map Maker Tools
We have added a Spline Tool as well as some additional layout tools. You can now draw racelines and curves to help place better lines on your maps. The new layout tools allow you to displace objects onto the splines that you draw or on top of other objects.
Controller Calibration Improvements
We’re improving our new controller calibration system to better read detect controller axis in addition to a few UI changes. Users can now assign functions to their switches outside of automatic calibration.
Miscellaneous Bug Fixes
We’ve fixed a few multiplayer UI issues
Fixed some bugs with Multiplayer Spectator Mode
Some other sweeping bug fixes
Thank you for all of your feedback and support of the Sim, if you have any issues or questions about the Sim or the update please let us know in the comments, Steam Discussion Forms, or on the Help Desk.
