The Occultist is a first-person narrative thriller. You play as Alan Rebels, a paranormal investigator who travels to an abandoned British island after his father's disappearance. Explore Godstone island, face supernatural entities, and uncover long-buried occult rituals.
STORY & SETTING
In The Occultist, paranormal investigator Alan Rebels travels to the mysterious island of Godstone to determine the cause of the sudden disappearance of his father. Even though he mentioned the island repeatedly over the decades, all that Alan really knows is that his father was born and spent his early years there.
However, Alan does not travel alone. He carries with him his mystical pendulum, an object of unknown origin that accompanied him on all his past paranormal investigations. As he explores the foggy streets and maddening buildings, apparently being the only things that remain on the mysterious island of Godstone, it becomes clear: This will be a case unlike any other.
Godstone was inhabited until 1950 by an infamous, macabre cult that performed disturbing experiments and cruel rituals. No one has ever set foot on the island since - until today. Using his paranormal talents, Alan must interact with the ominous souls that seem to remain in the foreboding streets and buildings left on Godstone; or avoid them at all cost, should they be wrathful.
Being a paranormal investigator, none of this is new to Alan Rebels. The mysterious Godstone however and his search for answers to his father’s disappearance put Alan’s skills to the test. More than any investigation before, Godstone shakes Alan’s convictions of what is possible in the world of the occult. Maybe Godstone hides a curse that can be lifted… but should it be?

First of all, we want to thank everyone who has played the game, enjoyed it, and taken the time to be part of our community. Seeing you explore the city of Godstone and connect with it truly means a lot to us.
A new update is now live, featuring several technical adjustments and improvements. This patch focuses on refining gameplay systems to ensure a smoother and more stable experience.

Puzzle Optimization: Adjusted the speed of puzzle mechanics for better consistency.
Quest Rewards: Fixed an issue where a reward item would remain floating after completing a quest.
Solved an issue where some quest items were not granted after finishing its quest.
Environment Clarity: Removed redundant dressing props to improve visual clarity in specific puzzle areas.
Collectible Accessibility: Refined collision boxes to make certain collectibles easier to reach.

Resolution Support (Experimental): Added support for new resolutions: 7680x4320 (8K, 16:9), 3840x1600 (UltraWide 4K, 21:9), and 5120x2160 (UltraWide 5K, 21:9).
Visuals & Localization
Graphics: Resolved texture issues on the hospital exterior.
Character Visuals: Fixed visible texture seams on Alan’s hand and improve overall texture resolution.
Localization: Corrected several typos and errors in game captions.
Audio: Added music to certain areas to improve atmosphere and narrative impact (kept intentionally vague to avoid spoilers).
Known Issues
We are aware of the following issues and are actively working on fixes:
Controller Input: In some combat situations, players using a controller may temporarily lose control after taking damage.
Final Battle: Rat behavior during the final encounter may not function as intended in certain cases.
