About the Game
Thank you for over 500,000 copies sold!
Half a million players have stepped into the radioactive ruins, scavenged for precious loot, and fought tooth and nail to make it out alive. That number represents not just sales, but stories. Thousands of extraction runs, loadouts tested, factions faced, and unforgettable moments of survival and chaos.
For those who are making runs into the radioactive wasteland, THANK YOU! And for those of you thinking if you should join them, well, I know 500,000 reasons why you should...
Happy hunting...
The world has ended. ZERO Sievert charges you with scavenging equipment across multiple areas, all set in an atmospheric fictitious post-apocalyptic Eastern Europe setting. Your base of operations, the bunker, is filled with traders, modding stations, and areas to make your own, providing you with progression across your excursions into the wild.
Once you’re out in the wilds of the wasteland, however, the situation becomes a lot less secure. Across the six biomes of the game, you’ll initially be armed with little more than a gun and a bottle of water, after which point it’s up to you to recover items, take out bandits, and most importantly, get back alive.
And be warned; the nuclear fallout may have impacted some of the local wildlife…
Learn To Survive, Fast
With a complete new hunter experience, our tutorial takes you (loosely) by the hand and equips you with the knowledge, skills and guns you'll need to to survive and thrive in the world of ZERO Sievert.
A Wasteland to Explore
Procedurally generated maps make every journey different, with ever-changing hiding spots, loot locations, weather, and layouts. With six maps to explore, be sure to adapt and learn each one's secrets to get in, get out, and get better.
Full Weapon Modification
Hunt in a way that suits your playstyle, with over 50 unique guns and 150 mods that can be combined to make you the biggest threat in the wastes of ZERO Sievert. Create a weapon that suits your style or focus on stats to become the ultimate hunter.
Maximise Your Gear and Skills
As you survive the harsh wasteland you’ll gain experience, sharpening your skills and unlocking new ways to become a deadly hunter. The Weapon Skill System allows you to level up various weapon types, boosting stats such as reload speed, damage, movement speed, and even unlocking unique perks tailored to each weapon. Beyond weapon XP, you can level-up your hunter with unique perks to help navigate the wasteland, tackle tough challenges, and take on more enemies.
Choose your Faction
In Zakov you’ll encounter The Green Army, a group dedicated to maintaining law and order, or the Crimson Corporation, a global pharmaceutical and technology giant. As a hunter you can choose a faction, earn reputation, unlock unique faction quests, and collect special, high-tier loot to aid you in your journey throughout the wasteland!
Looting and Questing
Multiple questlines guide you through the world of ZERO Sievert. Through talking with a range of characters you’ll slowly unravel information and lore about the world that’s been left behind. Alongside this, there are more than 100 different items to loot which can be used to craft new items, upgrade your own base, and trade.
Modding & Steam Workshop
The Steam Workshop offers all new ways for you to experience the post-apocalyptic world of Zakov. Dive into a wide range of game changing mods that introduce new weapons to your arsenal, factions for you to work for, NPC’s to discover, quests, languages, and much more.

Steam Patch Notes
Official update history
Oops! 😓 We made a mistake with the previous build, and we’re really sorry if you were affected by the crash.
The team worked quickly to get a hotfix out, and this should now be fixed.
Patch Notes
Fixed a crash on death.
Really sorry about that! We were so excited to share the Controller Improvements and ✨Borderless Fullscreen✨, but we should have left this one cooking in beta for a little longer.
Hello Hunters!
We just published another hotfix, this one includes some important quality of life updates:
Bug fixes
Borderless fullscreen is now available: Hopefully this means less issues with alt-tabbing and gpu drivers, it's enabled by default on fresh installations but you may want to turn it on if you have existing settings. If you are one of the users experiencing issues with alt tabbing the game go and turn Borderless mode ON, tell us here in the comments or on Discord if this solved your issues.
Fixed several potential crashes
Improved gamepad controls and UI navigation
Map markers can be placed and removed with just one button on controllers
Map navigation now uses analog stick instead of dpad on controllers
Improved gamepad aim assist
Steamdeck glyphs: steam deck users will now see console-correct images on button prompt, before the graphics were shared with the xbox pad
Inventory: Better handling of item dragging with controller
Radial menu on controllers swapped from right to left stick
and many other minor fixes!
Hello Hunters!
We've just put live a hotfix which has a speculative fix for the crashes some of you have been experiencing. This one has been particularly difficult to reproduce, so as a starting point for tackling it, we've updated the Steam SDK which was.... just a few versions out of date...
Update, jump in and let us know how it looks and feels. and most importantly...
If you had the crash and it's fixed, let us know. And if you had the crash and it isn't fixed, let us know!
Let us know in the comments or join the official ZERO Sievert Discord server and give @Ethan a shout and give him an update on the update.
Any and all information you can provide to us will help us get closer to resolving this problem.
Thank you!
We'll see you in the Zone...

What's that? Another update?! Damn right it is! Sure, it's because we broke stuff... but you can't say we just left the bag, can you...
Again, a massive THANK YOU to everyone who let us know you were experiencing issues and provided extra info on just how they were effecting you. This really helped and allowed us to quickly identify and resolve the issues. Here's the few notes for this hotfix:
Fixed an issue which caused the Prologue to crash

Fixed an issue where players could die in the Prologue
Fixed multiple localization issues
These fixes combined should further improve the stability and overall experience of the game for you.
Again, the biggest thank you to all of our players and community for providing insight and being patient while we fix these issues. We're a small dev team, but we're committed to ensuring an as smooth and positive experience as possible for you. If that is exactly what you're experiencing now, then please do leave us a Steam reviews to help get the word out all means the world to us.

That's right! We fixed the Steam Deck and Prologue issues we introduced with the latest update (sorry about that...)
A massive THANK YOU to everyone who let us know you were experiencing issues and provided extra info on just how they were effecting you. This really helped and allowed us to quickly identify and resolve the issues.
For those wanting the specifics, here's the few notes for this hotfix:
Fixed an issue which prevented the game from loading correctly on Steam Deck
Fixed an issue where Steam Deck users were unable to use consumables
Fixed an issue which caused the Prologue (tutorial) to crash
These fixes combined should immediately improve the stability and overall experience of the game for you (because who'd have thought being able to complete the tutorial was a good thing...).
Again, the biggest thank you to all of our players and community for providing insight and being patient while we fix these issues. Being a small dev team, it's no surprise that we encounter these issues from time to time, but your support, especially in providing logs and information on bugs, sharing the game with your friends and leaving Steam reviews to help get the word out all means the world to us.
We've been trawling Steam reviews, responding and jumping in DMs with players to get extra info and resolve issues, but did you know we have an active Discord? Click the link below and join us over there where we can turn around feedback much faster than on Steam (most people refuse my friend invite as they think I'm a bot :( We even have a channel dedicated to Steam Deck chat! https://discord.gg/DkTTUVF5qs
We're ever grateful for every positive review we receive and can't explain how happy we are that you along for the ride with us. Thank you.

- Cleaned up the news feed: no more raw Steam image URLs.

- Mods that create lots of quests won’t crash the game anymore (hopefully...).
- UI improvements to the mods menu.
- A couple of crashes related to modded quests and sprites have been fixed

🛠️ Modding Tools Updates

- Loadouts are now modifiable – customize what gear players start with. (did we say to check the doc already?)
- FactionExists() function added for modding
- Ownership support for Workshop items ("author_id" tag to the meta.ini file)
- Modded backpack items now show up on your character!
- Added missing NPC functions for modding, NpcSetFootstep() and NpcSetHp()
📖 New Game Events for Modding
Trigger your own stories and systems with these new mod-accessible events:
- "enter_hub" ➡️ Called once when the hub room is entered. This means when you start a new game/load a save, or return from a raid.
- "enter_raid" ➡️ Called once when the raid is started. Specifically this runs right after you continue past the loading screen.
- "exit_train" ➡️ Called once when the player gets off the train during a raid. This is performed immediately after the player position near the train.
- "player_spawn" ➡️ Called once when the player spawns into the world. This will occur when you first enter any (Game Maker) room/level.
- "player_death" ➡️ Called once when the player dies during raids.
- "trade_completed" ➡️ Called whenever the player successfully completes a trade with a trader.
Show us what you can do with them.
We also lovingly updated the documentation with all of this and more, don't forget to check it out!
🔚 ZERO Sievert Out
We really wanted to push this update out as soon as possible as many of you are hard at work on mods at the moment.
The team has also started working on the next major update, so stay tuned!
🛠️ ZERO Sievert – Hotfix 1.1.13 | Patch Notes
💬 Here We Go Again
You know how it goes… New update drops, some bugs sneak through the cracks, and everything's a little... crunchy. So we’ve kicked down the bunker door and patched up a bunch of stuff in 1.1.13. This one’s a hotfix to clean up after the last update (yeah, we saw the reports…), but we’ve also thrown in some quality-of-life tweaks and tasty new modding features because why not? Read on for all the good (and weird) stuff we fixed.

That’s the cleanup report for 1.1.13. Appreciate all the bug reports and the chaos you bring to the zone, keep it coming! We’ll be back soon with more updates, more fixes, and probably more ways to accidentally break the game 🙄. Until then, take what you can, give nothing back!

Thank you for all your support and happy hunting!
Hello Hunters!
We’re releasing a new patch today 1.0.7 to fix a number of issues that we’ve been tracking either from our ongoing testing internally, or from community reports.
(For those interested in game dev, the reason for the build is 1.0.7 instead of 1.0.6 is because there were a couple of fixes in our 1.0.6 candidate yesterday which needed additional work –so we don’t release that one, and move on to a new build which contains that additional work.)
FIXES
• Vehicles sometimes preventing access to be able to loot quest item (key)
• Entrance to Makeshift Lab sometimes being blocked by objects
• Some endgame choices clip offscreen in specific circumstances
• Multiple chests close to each other are hard to access when using a controller
• First Blood achievement not unlocking when killing certain wildlife
• Legacy placeholder image for raid selection screen updated to remove unused boxes
• Lighting in the Lab can abruptly change from dark to bright
• Several instances of spelling errors
• Permadeath tooltip text clipping
• Rad Pill buff displaying wrong colour
• Scrapping a stack of generic items only yields a single scrap material
• Scrapping items increases carry capacity
• Tooltip not updating to new correct magazine size after crafting
• Gear Lover skill does not affect weapons
• Industrial area quest locations sometimes inaccessible
• Added “Are you sure?” prompt when uninstalling a module
• Infirmary module not healing at the expected rate (it was using real-life minutes instead of in-game minutes)
• Some walls within Zakov City are missing collisions
• The Bandit Camp is occasionally inaccessible
• Selling Vlasov’s dogtag will prevent the quest from being completed
• Hovering over an item before it is revealed will show its identity in the tooltip
• Sometimes enemies can wander outside of the map boundaries on Makeshift Camp map
• Unable to remap inputs to the ‘R’ key on keyboard
• Joining a faction does not impact reputation or quest availability with a rival faction
• Difficult to see the Ghoul tunnel in The Machinery quest
• Default attachments for some weapons are incompatible once removed
• Transition from dry to rain storm can sometimes happen too suddenly
• Several instances of text missing localisations (some, but not all)
• Radio Tower in Makeshift Camp is sometimes inaccessible
• Weapon repair kits at 0-60 are not inclusive of 60%
• Player is (very rarely) randomly transported to a blank, blue map (we are creating a temporary workaround for this while we continue to investigate the root cause)
• Big Boned skill incorrectly applying weight reduction to additional armor sets
BALANCE CHANGES
• NPCs now drop scrap weapons, armor and ammunition
• Emissions will happen later in a raid (after the 20+ minutes mark)
• Heavy acid rain will only happen after an emission (it cannot be present during normal gameplay)
• Big's tooth value and spawn chance increased
• When accepting the quest "Psy Helmet p1" both oil factory keys are given to the player
• Endurance Booster Injector has been buffed
• The sale value of Roubles is always 1
• Endgame areas now have more supply chests (to provide better sustainability against the higher amount of enemies)
• Arman and Orel no longer shoot AP rounds and have slightly more loot
• The Mall Guns store locked room has had its loot updated
ERROR WORKAROUND
Meanwhile we also have a workaround for anybody getting “TexturesM.cpp” or “VertexBuilderM.cpp” errors when playing the game. If you experience this issue, please manually select “High Performance” in Windows as follows:
Open Windows Settings -> Select Graphics Settings -> Select Graphics Performance Preference
Find ZERO Sievert in the list -> Select Options -> Select High Performance
Please note that if it is not in the list by default, select Browse, and locate the game’s .exe file (the standard location for this is Program Files x86/Steam/Steamapps/Common/ZERO Sievert/)
ONGOING
Finally, just a note that we’re still working on the following reported issues:
• Delete Cloud Saves option also deletes local saves
• Turn-in prompt text sometimes not appearing after the first raid
• Switching ammo type on gamepad when in the bunker will display teleport menu
• Placement and removal of markers when using controller is inconsistent
• NPC Drop Armor menu setting issue
• Mouse drift in windowed more or when using a second screen
• Mr Junk sometimes has no items to trade
• Immediately looting modules sometimes means they will be empty
Once again, thanks for all your support!
We have applied a hotfix today to fix the following issues:
- Enemies dropping weapons without attachments
- Steam achievements not unlocking
- Jogger hunter skill does not work
We really appreciate you taking the time to report bugs to us, and we will continue to gather feedback over the weekend and into next week as we assess plans for a future patch.
As a reminder, once we are confident that the 1.0 release is in a good place, we will switch attention to post-1.0 updates, including Steam Workshop support (among other things). We’ll have more news to share on that in the coming weeks.
Happy Hunting!
