It’s been incredible watching the reception of A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead over the past 24 hours. Thank you so much for playing!
We have prepared a hotfix to address some of the issues and feedback we have received so far and continue to evaluate everything that is being sent to our support team. This is rolling out on Steam now, with the bottom two headed to consoles at a later date.
Resolved Issues
- Fixed an issue related to Steam players suffering from a performance drop down to 22 FPS.
- Fixed an issue where players could acquire an extra key in their inventory in the Campsite level.
Quality of Life
- Added a toggle option in the settings menu called “Chromatic Aberration.” The default is set to off.
Aspect Ratio
If you are trying to set an aspect ratio that is different from the monitor you are using, like trying to run the game at 1920x1080 on an ultrawide for example, then you will be unable to see settings for this. This is a stylistic feature of the game to ensure that the gameplay experience is consistent for all players, especially when in “Theatrical Mode.”
Yellow Paint
We’ve seen some players comment that they would prefer to play without the aid of yellow paint hints. Good news! This feature can be disabled by selecting the settings menu > Gameplay > Interface > “Remove Yellow Paints.”
PC Recommended Requirements
We have created an infographic (below) to outline what your expected settings and performance should be for your set-up. Please take a look if you have been experiencing any performance issues, as adjusting your settings per this chart may help to resolve this issue.
