Age of Clicks — Update 0.62.1
War & Diplomacy
- New: peace conference initiators can now demand war reparations — a lump sum or a tribute drained from the loser's income — stacking with any other peace terms.
- Fixed: an ally calling you into a war at an inconvenient moment could silently drag you into it with no prompt — now the request just waits its turn.
- Attacking a country far bigger than you is throttled much less if your own army is genuinely strong — a powerful military now breaks through a "giant's" defense instead of stalling for no reason.
- Frontline garrisons (even without built divisions) now also add to your offensive strength.
- Fixed: a weak attacker could no longer "encircle" and capture a stronger rival's territory through map geometry alone, without an army capable of it.
- Fixed a mix-up with historical borders after civil wars — the winning side no longer lost the right to reclaim its liberated homeland.
- A coalition no longer celebrates its formation if only one member actually declared war instead of all of them.
- Fixed ultimatum exploits: pressuring a weak rebel splinter of a great power is no longer a cheap shortcut, and nibbling away territory piece by piece is no longer cheaper than taking it all at once.
- Fixed: countries that got land back no longer stayed stuck forever with zero military and zero defense budget.
- Vassals under an overwhelmingly stronger master now build up "desire for liberty" from tribute more slowly.
Achievements
- The "Fashionista" achievement — for changing your flag and renaming your country in the same game — should now work correctly.
- Fixed the "Tech Genius" achievement — in some scenarios it was impossible to earn because of technologies granted at the start.
- Fixed the "AFK Empire" achievement — pop-up notifications (epidemics, crises, alliance invites) no longer reset the idle timer.
Interface
- Fixed: demolishing a missile silo didn't work outside of war, same as forts and AA used to.
Performance
- On mobile devices, maps for several scenarios (Modern World, World War II, Victorian Era) now use lighter graphics — lower memory use and better compatibility with weaker phones.
Misc
- The debug console now has a quick sandbox-mode toggle.
- In sandbox observer mode, clicking an enemy of the focused country now attacks it instead of just moving the camera.
- The bug that prevented creating a country in the map editor has been fixed.
List of changes
⚔️ Army Plans & Combat
- Order reach now scales with the arrow you actually drew instead of a tiny fixed distance
- If an order genuinely can't be carried out anywhere, your other fronts return to their normal advance instead of standing still forever
- The HUD now warns you when an order is not being carried out anywhere
- Arrows pointed at the sea no longer stay active forever and command wars declared long afterwards
- Armies line up along the full width of the arrow's jump-off line instead of stacking on a single point
- Army advantage matters more — total army dominance is now worth up to x2.2 (was x1.75)
- Hard terrain (forests, hills, marshes, mountains) is around 15% faster to capture
- National exhaustion no longer weakens your attacks. Instead it makes the army far costlier to maintain (up to x4 upkeep) and drives revolution risk and capitulation — tooltips now explain this properly
🕊️ War Report & Peace
- Completely rebuilt War Report. Every figure is a two-sided comparison bar: war score, manpower losses, equipment losses, occupied land and exhaustion — you read who's ahead from the shape of the bar
- Clear progress toward capitulation, with the 75% rule explained
- The peace button now tells the truth: dictating terms is free, and it no longer advertises a 25 diplomacy cost on wars that were about to open the conference for nothing
- Every stat has a tooltip explaining what it actually measures
- The report now fits on short screens and small windows
- Peace conference claims are painted as smooth, contiguous regions instead of the scattered "noise" you got with several co-belligerents
- Allies who contributed nothing no longer take a seat at the table — they no longer cut your own claim to a third for nobody's benefit
- Allied turns at the conference are much faster, and you now get a moment to actually see what each ally took
🤝 Diplomacy, Vassals & Releasing Nations
- NEW: Starting Diplomacy editor. Before the game begins, set up alliances, wars, vassals and relations directly on the map — drag from one country to another, or arm a tool and click
- Reworked Release Country menu. Draw the new state's borders on the map yourself or hand over its whole homeland; a live footer shows what you're giving away and what you keep
- Improving relations now costs 6x more diplomacy
- Buying influence through the finance office costs 30% more
- Vassal integration costs 20% more in gold and diplomacy
- Taking land from your own puppet now costs twice the liberty desire — you can no longer quietly strip a vassal to the last province for free
🏭 Economy & Production
- Fixed: artillery, tanks, aircraft and ships could silently drop to zero production. Infantry lines were spending the entire recruit budget first, leaving nothing for anyone else — while steel, fuel and parts piled up unspent. Every line now gets a fair share of the recruits
- New warning when you don't have enough soldiers to crew your equipment
- The production bottleneck report now reads the real recipes, so it warns the countries that are actually starved
🌍 Land Quality Rebalance
- A country's economy now reflects its good land, not its empty land. Deserts, tundra and mountains no longer cancel out a nation's productive core
- The USA, Australia, Algeria and Saudi Arabia recover the worth of their heartlands; uniformly poor nations stay poor
- Starting army sizes were rebalanced the same way — Russia no longer starts stronger than the USA and China combined
🏆 Clean Run & Achievements
- NEW: Clean Run mode. Achievements only unlock in a clean game — no cheats, no sandbox, no observer mode, difficulty Normal or higher. On by default
- Turn it off freely to play with cheats; the achievement list simply stops moving
- A badge on the achievements screen always tells you whether achievements are being awarded right now — and if not, exactly why
🏛️ Formable Nations
- Reworked menu: a map legend showing held vs. missing land, requirement chips, live progress, and a confirmation screen before you proclaim
🛠️ Map Editor & Modding
- NEW: Country Pool. Save countries from any scenario into a global library, complete with flags, and paint them onto any map
- Import every country of a scenario at once; replace borders or only add land
- Sea lock, blink intensity slider and a live preview of what will change
- Fixed a crash when saving on exit
- Improved reference/tracing layers
- Flags in custom and modded scenarios are now found reliably
🎨 UI & Performance
- Scenario select rebuilt. An era timeline rail for jumping straight to any scenario, full keyboard navigation, and previews that stream in instead of freezing the menu for several seconds
- Reworked country select screen
- New in-game console (~) for sandbox and debugging
- Save/Load and Mod Manager fixes
- Everything above is fully localized in all 14 languages
Thank you for all your feedback and support. ❤️
We're continuing to work on Age of Clicks, and there's more on the way!
- Fixed a bug where enemies occupying your lands could, if they surrendered, annex your lands after a peace conference. This now works reliably. If a country captures lands and loses them, they will definitely return them to their owner
- Fixed a bug where the "Military Files" menu would sometimes not open
