About the Game
Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 3 is "committing to the bit" so hard that it hurts.
It's a sequel to a game series that doesn't exist, complete with lore and a fictional development team. It's a game where match-3 is used not just for combat, but for lockpicking doors, debating robots, and swallowing a bunch of diamonds in front of a notorious gem thief so that he can't steal them first.
It is, all genre elements considered, a match-3 survival horror comedy RPG metroidvania, and it's rad as hell.
20 years ago, Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion emerged as a smash-hit genre fusion, casting fan-favorite protagonist Jack Briar in a fast-paced puzzle adventure.
8 years ago, Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 3 was announced on the biggest stage in gaming.
This is what happened next.
What is this?
A match-3 metroidvania--or matchroidvania --exploring the development of a sequel to a game series that doesn't exist.
Another wild genre fusion from the developers behind Clickolding, I Am Your Beast, and Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator.
A story about sequels, game development, and the horrible, beautiful things that happen when the foundation of your reality falls apart.
Part match-3 metroidvania, part choice-based narrative, part survival horror parody, part joyful wheel-spinning nightmare.
A game that could only work with a polka soundtrack, provided by award-winning composer David Mason (Dredge, Life Eater).

Steam Patch Notes
Official update history
- A fix for the text log background disappearing (if anyone gets any instances of this after this patch, please let us know)
- Performance improvements in chapter 3
- A fix to the game's credits displaying at the wrong position
- Additional tutorialization
Thanks all. Have a good weekend!
Quality of Life:
- The game now tracks which options the player has chosen previously in dialogue and event encounters. The UI will slightly gray out options which have been chosen previously and text in the top right of the screen will notify you how many unselected options remain in an encounter. We hope this will help folks who are still missing the odd Trait or Item in a chapter (NOTE: this setting will be turned on by default for new players but is disabled by default for existing players - please enable it if you want it by ticking 'Track Unselected Choices' in the settings menu)
Fixes:
- Clearing horizontal and vertical lines with items like the Chainsaw should no longer bug out on button controls (like on Steamdeck/gamepad, as opposed to mouse input)
- Some more mended typos
- Progress trackers for the current chapter on the level select screen should more accurately reflect which traits and items are missing
Today's patch includes:
- A fix for a sequence break in Clown Alley
- Exiting the game before the first bar/rest stop no longer allows the player to 'continue game' from the main menu into an incompatible save state
- Cursor position now reflects correctly on aspect ratios narrower than 16:9 (e.g.: 16:10 and 4:3)
- The application will now mute itself when minimized
- Typo fixed in the stress meter tutorial message
Looking into issues around the progression tracker next, among a couple other things, and should hopefully have fixes for those up around the beginning of next week. Have a good weekend!
Updates:
- Achievements should be fully working (and will apply for any you have already earned, you will not need to earn any again)
- Changes have been made to the save system, which we hope will resolve an issue some people experienced when changing their settings during encounters
- More aspect ratio options have been added to the settings
Thanks so much to everyone who has played so far!
