Restored Land is the definitive Dying Light: The Beast experience: a brutal, solo journey where the world reacts to your every move! These new rules mean that resources are finite, and every decision carries the weight of permanent consequence as you face the ultimate zombie apocalypse.
New rules of survival:
- [p align="justify"]Restore the Land: For the first time ever, turn the tide. Killed infected do not respawn, allowing you to fully cleanse regions and mark freshly-cleared areas on the game map.
- [p align="justify"]Manage Resources: Looted items are no longer replaced and shops offer reduced stock at higher prices. Supplies must be carefully managed, stretching your resource management skills to the max.
- [p align="justify"]Permanent World Progression: Benefit from your bravery. High-risk activities such as Convoys, Dark Zones, and Hives need only be completed once to be permanently cleared.
- [p align="justify"]Survival Mechanics: Limited materials and food means you must manage hunger and replace depleted flashlight batteries.
- [p align="justify"]One Life: An optional mode that introduces full permadeath for the ultimate ‘no second chance’ challenge. When death truly means death, how long will you last in the apocalypse?
- [p align="justify"]Roadkill Rallies: Competitive car challenges focused on incredible zombie-killing opportunities and optimizing your routes through the open world.
- [p align="justify"]Friends Leaderboards: Track your performance in both Restored Land and Roadkill Rallies to compete against friends for the top spot.
- [p align="justify"]High-Risk Encounters: Face deadlier species of infected for significantly greater rewards.
- [p align="justify"]Expansive New Content: 36 new quest encounters, seven new achievements, and new brutal finishers.
Immerse yourself in this stunning expansion of Dying Light: The Beast that includes all existing enhancements - such as Legend Levels, New Game+, and Nightmare Mode - alongside full Ray Tracing (PC) and hundreds of parkour upgrades in one complete package! Standard Edition owners receive this upgrade automatically for free.
Nightmare Experience is a new difficulty level for Dying Light: The Beast - designed for seasoned players looking for serious survival experience. It makes Human and Infected enemies stronger, smarter, more aggressive, reacting faster to your actions using their heightened senses. Some Dark Zones may now include Volatiles during the day and gameplay becomes more challenging as resources are limited and they need to be managed more carefully.
This update also introduces a new Alpha Volatile. This is the most powerful infected in Castor Woods, and the most intelligent Volatile in the history of Dying Light. It tracks your scent, ignores the UV light from your flashlight, and can hunt and follow you across the map until you reach a safe zone or manage to kill it. He’s smart and dangerous, enforcing a careful and strategic playstyle during the night.
On top of that Nightmare Experience brings new survival mechanics. The Hunger System affects your stamina, health regeneration, and combat efficiency. The longer you ignore hunger, the stronger the penalties become. Additionally the flashlight drains over time and will dim and flicker as the battery gets low, requiring you to craft or find replacements.
Completing the hardest challenges in this difficulty rewards you with exclusive items, including unique charms, and a special outfit, and a new vehicle skin.
NEW GAME+
You can now replay Kyle’s story in New Game+ while keeping all gear, weapons and character progression from your first playthrough. Enemy difficulty is increased, but you’ll also encounter higher-tier weapons and loot to match the challenge. New Game+ can be repeated multiple times - each completed run further raises the game’s difficulty level and unlocks access to even stronger and rarer weapons, as well as the toughest enemies in Castor Woods.
LEGEND LEVELS
Legend Levels is the classic Dying Light end-game progression system that extends your character beyond the main skill tree.
Once you reach Level 15, all earned XP is converted into Legend XP. Higher difficulty settings and higher New Game+ tiers increase XP gains, so the more you challenge yourself, the faster you progress.
Each Legend Level grants Legend Points that you can spend on passive upgrades such as increased health, improved combat stats and stronger Beast Mode performance. Every level also raises your maximum health by a fixed percentage, helping you stay competitive in higher NG+ tiers.
Legend Levels also introduce a large set of new rewards to unlock: 22 new weapons (melee and firearms, including vintage guns), 2 complete outfits (12 gear pieces) and new legendary vehicle skins.
RAY TRACING
Ray tracing is now available, bringing even more realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections to the game, allowing you to experience our immersive and visually stunning world with enhanced atmosphere and depth.
How to enable ray tracing?
The suggested way to activate Ray Tracing is to set the Video Quality Preset in your game settings to Ultra.
If you need more tweaking you can also enable or disable individual Ray Tracing options in the Advanced Video Settings menu to balance performance and visual quality.
System requirements:
A Ray Tracing capable graphics card (NVIDIA RTX, AMD RX 6000/7000 series, or Intel Arc)
At least 8 GB of video memory
16 GB recommended for 4k
Performance and Visuals
The game is designed so that all settings - from Low to Ultra - preserve the same core look and artistic style.
Ray Tracing improves reflections, lighting, and shadows, delivering more realistic visuals, though please note this may impact performance
If your system has trouble maintaining smooth performance, try selecting a preset below Ultra and tweak individual Ray Tracing settings for optimal results.
Please note when Ultra mode is enabled, Frame Generation is automatically turned on to improve frame rate.
VRR, V-Sync, and Input Latency
For best results, use a VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) display with a refresh rate of 60 Hz or higher. VRR may be labeled as FreeSync, G-Sync, or Adaptive Sync depending on your monitor.
If VRR is detected, the game automatically disables V-Sync to ensure the lowest input latency and smooth frame delivery.
If VRR is supported by your setup but disabled, please try to enable it in your system, driver settings or display settings. If VRR is not working still, please enable V-Sync manually in the game menu (Intel and AMD cards) or try enforcing it in the driver (Nvidia) to prevent screen tearing (if observed)
Note: Using Frame Generation may increase input lag, especially if V-Sync is on.
If controls feel delayed:
Enable VRR and disable V-Sync
Ensure Latency Reduction is enabled
If lag persists, disable Frame Generation or switch to a preset below Ultra
NEW FINISHERS
We’ve added 3 new finishers to give you even more varieties of bloody execution on enemies.
1 for one-handed blunt weapons
1 for two-handed blunt weapons
1 for two-handed slasher weapons
