DRIVE TO SURVIVE

It’s you and your station wagon against an unforgiving, vicious world. It’ll take more than a fresh set of tires to keep you alive, on and off the road. Your faithful wagon can be upgraded and reinforced to protect you, but the car is going to take a beating. Keep your gas tank filled and your panels intact to withstand the radiation permeating the Zone. You’ll be pushed to your limit - making repairs on the fly, scavenging materials wherever you can, and adapting your rolling fortress to tackle the many life-threatening dangers that lurk in the shadows.
INVESTIGATE THE ZONE

The experimental leftovers of the secretive ARDA organization remain scattered across the Zone, and finding answers won’t be easy. Everywhere you look you’ll find anomalies, surreal forces of a twisted nature that make your journey more difficult... or more interesting. Silhouettes in the dark, rolling piles of scrap metal, and towering pillars of earth - each trip is packed with otherworldly hazards. As terrifying as those may be, nothing compares to the overwhelming power of a Zone Storm. Stomp on the gas and outrun it if you can - these rolling maelstroms rend the landscape and obliterate anything that sticks around too long. Don’t let that be you.
REPEAT

Check the map, pack some gear for the trip, and hit the road. Gather resources and collect data as you go, there’s all sorts of useful stuff inside the walls of the Zone. Make it back safely and use the contents of your trunk to improve your car and garage. Every time you venture out, new trials await: bizarre weather, unforgiving landscapes, and experimental remnants. The golden rule in the Zone is ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained’ — some materials can only be found in the most dangerous places. Be smart out there, and don’t waste time — it’s going to be a long haul.

Hello Drivers! Today’s patch has performance updates, new radio content and a number of bug fixes (including a fix for some players in a broken state). Pacific Drive version 1.14.0 is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S | X. Read below to see what’s changed!
First, a major fix is going out today for any players with corrupted saves in Whispers in the Woods expansion content that stopped them from making progress in the DLC. With this update, affected players will see a pop-up message when loading back into Pacific Drive.
If you see this message, your save file will have automatically applied changes that should fix any outstanding issues and return you to an unblocked state.
Story progression will be rolled back to just before leaving on the “Initiation” quest. Your progress on the Whispering Chart will be set back to that point as well, with only the very first Junction containing the first audio tape revealed.
Any Audio Tapes you’ve collected will be removed from your inventory and returned to the world for you to collect, and their objectives markers updated - ensuring that you can’t miss them. The Whispering Chart will be placed back on the Altar in the lobby of the garage, and can be collected then used immediately.
All attuned car parts and crafting resources will still be in your inventory and storage. Only story critical items should be affected.
Objective UI elements will not appear until you re-enter the Whispering Woods and approach an altar. At that time your objectives should return in the top right corner of your HUD.
Store Artifacts in your backpack inventory or car trunk storage. Roof storage and side storage do not count artifacts in mission objectives.
Second, we’ve introduced some performance fixes that may have reverted graphics settings to their default state. Please check to make sure to check that your settings are correct when loading back into your game.

We saved your saves! Pacific Drive Hotfix Version 1.13.1 is available to download now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S | X.
Version 1.13.1 - Highlights
Today’s hotfix is laser focused on a few issues reported by the community this week! We’ve tackled the save loading issue, an inventory system bug, and some scary crashes caused by rogue garage elements.
Before we get into the patch notes themselves, we do want to address a concern around file size that you’ve all expressed to us over the last few weeks, namely how large the update file sizes appear to be on PC and Console whenever a new patch or update to the game happens.
To speak on it at a high level, sometimes patching the game involves a re-organization of the files and information that make up the entire game - it’s not possible to just pick and choose which ones are updated, and for safety, it’s easiest to deliver that re-organized structure in the way you’ve been experiencing. A result of this is that the updates themselves appear larger, and take more time to download and install. The good news is that your install size for Pacific Drive won’t increase, outside of content added to the game like the Whispers in the Woods Expansion.
Bugs and UX Hotfixes
For our players on PC - we’ve fixed the issue where players could indefinitely hang on loading screens while attempting to load into a saved game or in some loading transitions.
We’ve fixed this by making adjustments to some build process changes introduced in Version 1.13.0 that were intended for optimization purposes. This has resolved the save game issue, and maintained the improvements made to the overall gameplay experience.
Whispers in the Woods - We’ve fixed a crash that would occur when players collided with rogue pieces of set dressing during garage sequences in Whispers in the Woods. Often occurring right before the player would pick up the Whispering Chart, or when they attempted to bring it back to the ZETI system.
This would occur after the “Mysterious Signal” mission, or after the last mission in the DLC
This had the chance to permanently break saves if the player’s autosave occurred at the same point as the crash - so we wanted to take care of it quickly.
For players using a controller on PC or Console - When attempting to move items into a new inventory one by one, the cursor would follow the item into the new inventory UI rather than stay in the source inventory. This would not occur during quick transfers into normal inventory but - it could cause a crash if you attempted to quick transfer parts into a parts locker. Luckily, we discovered the source of the issue shortly after the Version 1.13.0 release thanks to your reports, and have fixed the root cause.
A Quick “Thank You!” to the Community
It’s no secret that the Pacific Drive community is a passionate one, filled with mystery hunting researchers, rally racing Breachers, and sci-fi mechanics determined to get the most out of all the upgrades to our beloved station wagon.
We want to take a moment and say - Thanks! You all helped us find the above issues, and in some cases, solutions to those issues, extremely quickly by submitting reports and save game data.
You can always use www.pacificdrivegame.com/support to reach us directly, use the Steam forums to collaborate your experience with other players, or hop in our Discord to ask us about the most-up-to-date information we can provide.
Well would you look at that - she's running smooth again. Pacific Drive Version 1.13.0 is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S | X.

Some general performance fixes:
The game’s file structure and build process on launch have been adjusted to increase performance, and minimize load times
This change affects the way that 4.27 UE packages content. Essentially, we’re changing the way we build the game and the way that the data is stored.
This allows the build to be more performant during gameplay by reducing the time spent on file read processes.
Concentrated efforts to solve a few rough hitches on Consoles
Bugs and UX Fixes
Base Game
Adjusted build process to make file read quicker
Fixed an issue where some settings could reset to default during the base game

Fixed an issue where players could not continuously craft items while the “Pause in Menus” setting was enabled
Fixed an issue where backpack upgrades would not take effect on the player hotbar until starting a new run
Certain utility attachments can no longer be seen clipping through the side of Part Lockers when stored
Fixed an issue where the Deco-Vend machine would occasionally dispense blank Bobbleheads
If you are in possession of blank Bobbleheads we kindly ask that you donate them to the Zone on your next trip (the Instability will collect them)

Whispers in the Woods
Opening quest “The Mysterious Signal” fixes
Fixed an issue where the Mysterious Signal quest could sometimes not progress properly
Fixed an issue where the Mysterious Signal quest junction could fail to spawn enough anchors to summon a Gateway
This does not block quest progression, as the objective would still advance if players abandoned trip to return to the garage, but we’ve smoothed the experience out just in case
Fixed an issue where other Altars of Passage could still be used after a Gateway had been summoned
Lightning created by artifacts is now able to hit the Lightning Rod and generate LIM energy
Artifact stacks have changed slightly when interacting with other artifacts

Fixed an issue where junctions marked as Harvestmen nests would not spawn the Harvestmen properly, as well as Glowgrabber appearances.
Fixed an issue where Radio transmissions or music would play over a sequence that was scored with specific music
Fixed an issue where players would sometimes hear audio from the Altar in the garage before it had appeared
Fixed certain road obstructions not playing audio when destroyed
Artifacts smelted into a refined resource and now displayed horizontally rather than vertically via the tooltip
Removed incorrect information from furnace UI in early Whispers in the Woods content

Fixed material on certain shelters out in the Zone missing textures
Gameplay Balance and Scripting
Improved tutorialization for Altars of Passage.
Quest markers now appear in more situations.
Adjusted spawn rate for Harvestmen and Glowgrabbers
Upcoming Fixes
We’ve managed to sort out a lot of the lingering issues, and the following is a short list of fixes coming soon in a future update to Pacific Drive:
Players may see their custom settings apply when loading into Expeditions
Currently this can be fixed by opening and closing the gameplay settings menu, but has an incoming fix
Some players are encountering a crash at the first garage sequence in Whispers in the Woods before picking up the Whispering Chart
The Refinery station is currently blocking a garage cosmetic slot, we're getting to it!
Surprise! It’s a bonus Hotfix. We discovered an issue with the route planner that needed solving as soon as possible to get you all back out into the Zone and on the road.
Version 1.11.2 - Negative Scanner charges and Getting Trapped in the Garage
We’ve just pushed a solution to help you keep from getting stuck in the garage due to negative scanner charges, and other route planning related issues. Today’s fix is live for all platforms - PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
Some players have gotten stuck with negative scanning charges when interacting with the route planner, and that's made it impossible to leave the garage entirely - because selecting a route is key to starting the journey from the garage.
This was happening due to a difference in the number of charges between Whispers in the Woods maps, and the base game. If players attempted to scan the Whispers in the Woods nodes but did not leave the garage after scanning, then returned to base game map, the math would assume they had scanned a multiplicative amount and could register a negative amount of scanner charges.
While most players could revert this change by going on an expedition run, some players were completely hardlocked by the embark requirements of their expedition level and would not be able to leave the garage entirely - needless to say this isn't ideal and we wanted to provide a solution for you all as soon as possible!
This fix corrects the misalignment between the Whispers in the Woods charges and base game charges. It should also correct any negative numbers that players might have on their save files (you should at least have one map scanner charge on a previously bugged save). We’ve confirmed this fix with new save games, jumpstarted save games, personal developer saves, and the affected individuals who donated their saves to our support line (and ultimately were the absolute heroes in us tracking down the source of the issue).
We know that a large group of you hasn’t encountered this particular issue - but for those that have, thank you for reaching out to us. Your saves, experience, and all the information shared really helped us nail this down so we could get you a solution as soon as possible.
Friendly reminder - here’s what you can do if you encounter a bug or crash with Pacific Drive.

Version 1.11.1 - Highlights
We've implemented a lot of fixes for softlocks and progression blocking issues have been solved
Xbox users should now be able to access their DLC entitlements offline
Bug and UX Fixes
Fixed a rare crash that would occur when attempting to save a game that had a large or older save file
Fixed a softlock in early Whispers in the Woods mission when breaking down attuned car parts and not having enough materials to craft more.
If your save is currently in this state, new attuned parts should appear from the pneumatube next to the route planner.
Fixed a softlock in base game tutorial where tires would sometimes obtain extra unintended status effects.
Fixed a softlock in base game tutorial that would prevent player from using the route planner in certain circumstances.
Improvements have been made to alleviate fog flickering on consoles however this will slightly impact render resolution on affected platforms.
A fix for the render resolution changes is already planned for a future patch.
We’ve taken steps to prevent players from stumbling into an issue with Whispers in the Woods where they cannot properly progress through the game after the first Altar of Passage.
We are still actively investigating instances of this issue for existing players
Xbox Specific - We’ve fixed Xbox Whispers in the Woods DLC entitlements (licensing) becoming unavailable when playing offline - all content should now be available without requiring an internet connection.
Ongoing Performance Issues
We’re aware of certain players experiencing performance problems on multiple platforms. We are actively investigating these issues; however we do want to remind console players of the existence of performance mode. For players on the Xbox series S we highly advise this to be enabled.
One specific outstanding issue is a lack of PC shader caching. While this hot fix does not contain improvements in that area, we do have a fix ready to be deployed in the near future which should alleviate those problems.
Known Issues
Xbox Specific - Audio will sometimes stutter when zooming in/out with the camera
Controller haptics still activate occasionally when disabled in settings
Temporary solution - disable haptics/vibration at a device level
Status Effect indicators are not properly rotating in inventory
Z.E.T.I. System can get stuck in animation when saving/quitting during the animation
Can be solved by re-inserting hard drive or audio tape items
A hitch can occur when destroying a Plasma Generator with the Impact Hammer
Abandoned cars sometimes spawn floating
Taking a standard Junction Exit after summoning an Attuned Gateway can cause Altars of Passage to not spawn in future Exit Junctions
The Refinery garage station continues to run while game is paused
The Refinery is blocking a garage cosmetic slot
Rare instances where Audio Tape dialogue is missing partial subtitles
Occasionally, some new anomaly types will fail to spawn in their specially marked junctions
Harvestman
Glowgrabber
Harvestman neck can erratically stretch and distort visually in certain situations
Hooligan logbook Photo cannot be unlocked
A slight hitch occurs when any Attuned car part is highlighted

Performance Improvements
A small foreword: This patch brings our largest effort, and in turn our most significant performance improvements to Pacific Drive to date. These improvements positively impact all versions of the game, including PC (high and low spec machines) and Consoles (both standard and performance mode). The changes target CPU, GPU, Video Memory, and Load times.
CPU
Disabled multiple unutilized aspects of Unreal Engine 4.27 that were not necessary for Pacific Drive
Reduced complexity of the physics scene for faster performance
Optimized expensive player specific physics overlaps
General improvements for blueprints by increasing use of cached data
Minor Time of Day optimizations
Multiple CPU specific hitches fixed
GPU
Massive reduction in base geometry and LODs for very expensive foliage and rock meshes
Improved culling of meshes at extreme distances
Improved LOD generation for the entire game. Notable areas of improvement
Car Parts and Upgrades
Items, Tools, and Resources
Garage Stations
Resource Providers and Scrapable Vehicles
Environment Detailing Meshes
Reduced dynamic distance field scene complexity
Reduced the default mirror shadow quality settings which were set higher than needed and could significantly impact performance
Video Memory
Removed redundant landscape grass data for improved memory footprint
Reduced some expensive distance field mesh resolutions for improved memory footprint
Reduced unused or underutilized texture sizes across the game with no visual impact
Load Times
Improved load times across the game with targeted procedural generation spawning optimizations
A Note on Shader Caching:
Alongside the improvements in performance, we are aware that there have been some regressions with shader caching with this update. However, overall performance has been largely improved over previous versions and we do have a fix for this specific issue that will be deployed in a near future patch.
Gameplay Balance and Scripting
Improved Resistance stacking for certain Car Parts
Adjustments to Lim Shield Effectiveness
The Lim Shield now has active battery drain while activated
0.35 kW/sec. Battery Drain per Damage is reduced by 50% to help counteract this.
Developer Note: We found players were driving with the LIM Shield active at all times without much downside. To better align the car part with our design goals we added battery drain while it is active, but also lowered how much your battery drains when the shield mitigates damage.
Adjusted Expeditions Tutorials process
Tutorial timing flexibility for new players, you now have the ability to back out earlier if you don’t want to listen to Francis talk as much!
Weather pattern timing has been slowed, allowing them to last longer
Reduced death penalties on default settings:
85% Chemicals lost on death
Car parts that die shortly before players dies are more likely to appear in the Friendly Dumpster
Car parts returned from Friendly Dumpster are more likely to return with better health ranges.
Car parts that die shortly before players die are less likely to appear on Remnant
These settings remain adjustable under Gameplay Settings if players prefer a different experience
Changed quirks that influence Battery Charge.
Battery now charges at 0.65 kW / Sec as opposed to 2 kW/Sec
Bugs and UX Improvements
Fixed occasional softlock conditions in Expeditions tutorial
Incorrect maps have been removed from the Expeditions map pool

Small workaround - can be fixed by reinserting Z.E.T.I hard drive
A hitch can occur when destroying a Plasma Generator with the Impact Hammer
Abandoned cars sometimes spawn floating
Known Issues for Whispers in the Woods
Taking a standard Junction Exit after summoning an Attuned Gateway can cause Altars of Passage to not spawn in future Exit Junctions
The Refinery garage station will continue to run while the game is paused
Rare instances where Audio Tape dialogue is missing partial subtitles
Occasionally, certain new anomaly types will fail to spawn in their specially marked junctions
Applies to REDACTED Anomalies

REDACTED logbook Photo cannot be unlocked due to the nature of the Anomaly
A slight hitch can occur when any Attuned car part is highlighted
Platform Specific Issues for Whispers in the Woods
The Xbox Entitlement for the WITW DLC is tied to the connection status of Xbox Online Services
If a player has an existing Xbox save with the WITW DLC and goes offline, they get a warning that “this save is inaccessible due to missing content” message when trying to load the game. Save becomes accessible once connection is reestablished to the Xbox Online Services.
On PlayStation 5 Performance Mode and Xbox Series S consoles, depending on graphics settings, there is a problem that can cause fog to flicker under certain conditions
We’ve prepared a fix for this issue, and will be implementing it soon
We know you've probably had Zone gunk stuck to your boots for weeks - so we did some clean up around the Garage for you! We made changes to some settings, fixed a ton of bugs, and adjusted a few things - Version 1.9.4 of Pacific Drive is now available on PC and PS5.
Version 1.9.4 - Highlights
The sink, toilet, and hand dryer are functional at Oppy's Garage!
The Z.E.T.I. device upgrade issue has been fixed during the introductions to Expeditions quest line, when presented by Francis in the garage.
We have moved several gameplay options to the accessibility section of the pause menu - this means that they are universal, and will be applied across all saves as well as available in the Expeditions game mode. Check below for more details.
Bugs and UX Fixes
The following options have been moved to the Accessibility section of the settings menu, which applies them universally to all save slots and game modes like Expeditions:
Pausing the game while in menus
Easy Ignition
Equipped Part Swapping
Easy Shifter
Enabling or Disabling the Acid Splash effect on Windshield
Require Car in Park to Turn On
Fixed issues surrounding the start of an Expedition
Fixed placing a Rewoven Hard Drive into the Z.E.T.I not triggering the Expedition state (Map wouldn’t appear, garage couldn’t open)
Expeditions rewards are now fixed, solving the previous issue of them not being available to certain players
Fixed an issue where players could not install the Z.E.T.I. Device upgrade delivered by Francis during the Expeditions intro quest
A handful of rarely occurring crashes are now fixed permanently:
Spawning system-related crash from reloading into a map or resuming a save
PhysX crash
Rare crash during Expeditions introduction
Fixed an issue where the dash light indicating that Quirks are present would not turn on, leading to an issue where subtle quirks would go unnoticed. The dash light tracks the 'severity' of quirks, illuminating yellow, then red, based on the number of quirks you've collected and how detrimental they are to the cars function. Often, more harmless quirks will only trigger the warning light when you collect more than one.
The Garage bathroom fixtures are fully functional once again - the sink, toilet, and hand dryer are all usable after resuming from a save or map reload
Fixed an issue where the Spike Strip and Spike Log Anomalies would unintentionally deal far too much damage to the player when the car dropped below its protection threshold
Fixed issue where subtitles would be shown twice during gameplay
Fixed an issue where retrieving items from a Burr using the Thermal Vacuum could cause them to fall under the world
Driver entrance to car animation has been fixed - no longer possible to crouch repeatedly, triggering physics obliteration of the car
PlayStation DualSense controllers now play radiation detection noises as intended
Known Issues
“The Visions” mission markers have a chance to not appear
Temporary workaround: mural locations have not changed, refer to this screenshot.
When reloading from a suspended run, the car can experience an incredible amount of upward movement depending on how closely to the car the game was saved
This situation is dependent upon frame perfect scenarios and is affected by car and player collision, is extremely rare.
Some Campaign Mission details can appear on Expeditions
Details may appear in route planner information if junction is repurposed from a Campaign Mission
Occasionally Tool Instruction UI will scale smaller via HUD
Temporary solution: Using the tool will make the text scale properly
When upgrading Backpacks at the Outfitting Station, additional quick slots will not immediately appear
The correct number of quick slots will display after leaving the Garage or reloading the save file
Trip Report may not properly count trip time displayed when loading from a suspended run
The Paint Shelf objective is registering paints and decal kits in locked Goldshells
Tesla Towers don’t target Conductive Goldshells
Status effect indicators on bumpers are not rotating properly in inventory when storing part
Player can stand on rear left door when exiting car if rear left door is open, will also cause door to break and fall off
Occasionally, Players are able to highlight containers through walls

- “Prologue” by Zachary Blystone has been cleared for the Streamer Safe radio playlist
- “Personal Methods of Creative Expression” achievement has been fixed
Bugs and UX Fixes
- Fixed remaining cases of anomalies and Zone conditions appearing at the garage - we appreciate the Breachers that submitted reports of Anomalous Activity
- Fixed an issue where some maps with stabilizers could still appear in Expeditions, which could allow them to be completed early
- Fixed the Remnant Ghost disappearing when suspending a run on the same map
- Fixed ‘Scrap’ terminology - previously used as a verb instead of correctly labeling Scrap as a material
- Fix for the “Personal Methods of Creative Expression are Highly Encouraged” achievement sometimes not unlocking when conditions are met
- This was caused by players unintentionally being able to remove the license plate from the car while in the garage. Now when loading into the garage, the license plate will be automatically reapplied to the car if it is detected missing.
- This was caused by players unintentionally being able to remove the license plate from the car while in the garage. Now when loading into the garage, the license plate will be automatically reapplied to the car if it is detected missing.
- Fix for the first ARDA Payload found upon reaching Expedition Tier 15 - Payloads always reward an Unrestricted item at this difficulty
- Fix for Expedition Rewards not appearing on certain save files - rewards should be visible in the Route Planner and awarded on completion of Expedition
- “Prologue” by Zachary Blystone re-added to Streamer Safe Music setting
- Certain songs included in Streamer Safe mode were being incorrectly claimed due to a technical error. The underlying error has been resolved, so existing claims should automatically reverse and no new claims should appear. If you have any content featuring Streamer Safe songs claimed going forward, file a support ticket on our website.

Happy Hotfix - I mean, Holidays!
We’re gearing up for a pretty big 2025, but we wanted to make sure we took care of this first - so lets lets get to the good stuff.
Version 1.8.3 - Tidying up the Garage
Drumroll, please - The ‘Garage Barrage’ achievement and progress tracking has been fixed!
This issue arose during the recent 4.27 upgrade and was reported quickly by the community. Thanks so much for everyone who submitted tickets and shared their game logs with us. Here’s what happened — when the game launches we build up a cached mapping of the upgraded stations so that we know which upgrades are available to the player within their garage, and this was tied to how the achievement was tracking progress and completion. That list wasn’t being populated correctly due to an internal change in how certain assets are enumerated with the upgrade to 4.27.
Our fix is two-fold — obviously, fix that mapping, but also we’re re-checking for certain achievements upon loading your game, as it previously only checked for achievement completion upon upgrading something in your garage. Pretty slick!
For those affected by the issue, loading into your game with completed garage upgrades will unlock the achievement immediately. For anyone that hasn’t quite unlocked it yet but noticed the progress was incorrect, your progress will be updated correctly.
For those of you rushing to get 100% completion before the end of the holiday, now you can! Best of luck, drive safe, and have fun.
Before we forget - we'd like to take a moment to appreciate you, our players, for being so locked in and determined to play as much Pacific Drive as possible. We truly wouldn’t have caught this issue and found a fix without your many reports and contextual info.
As a reminder - here’s what you can do if you encounter a bug or crash with Pacific Drive.

This fix landed today on PC and on PlayStation, so if you’re a console player - worry not! We’ve got you guys all set to get back in the garage, fully prepped and supplied for another run out into the Zone.
