Official update history
23 Mar 2020 Shieldwall was released in Early Access on Steam. To celebrate the anniversary, I've prepared an update, which includes a new map called Mountain Junction. The map is available in Custom Battles and Multiplayer.
List of changes:
- New map for Custom Battles and Multiplayer was added. It's called Mountain Junction.
- Easy difficulty in Сampaign became even more easier. The player has got more Gold and GPM factor in all campaign missions on Easy difficulty. So if you get stuck on one of the missions, you can now try to complete it again on the easy difficulty. You will have a better chance.
P.S. Normal difficulty has not changed. - Some translation issues for German and Chinese languages were fixed.
- Also, one of the players asked me to give access to older versions of the game. I did it. Now you can play one of several older versions of Shieldwall. To do it you should go to:
Steam Library -> Shieldwall -> Properties -> Betas -> Beta Participation
then select one version from the list (select "none" to get back to actual version)

Shieldwall is out of Early Access now! It gets the final act of the campaign, Steam Achievements, new translations and some other improvements! It's v.1.0.0 now! Thank you for your support and feedback! I'm very happy to have such friendly and responsive community!

Changes:
- Added 3 new missions (Act IV)

- Added new UI element showing the number of hit enemies after using the Missiles command
- Added new music tracks in the game (those tracks for the last campaign missions)
- Improved AI hero logic, also fixed some issues in it (it's about choosing target flags and moving in battle)
- Improved AI team logic (it's about AI researches and balancing defenders/squad hiring)
- Rebalanced all campaign missions (lots of little changes; easy difficulty should now be easier)
- Rebalanced Standard's upgrades (this is mostly about improving GMP and CST upgrades)
- Little UI changes including changing some fonts, text sizes and text locations
- Optimized foliage on some maps to increase fps

List of changes:
- Coliseum map for Multiplayer and Custom battles
- The map includes new type of flags - flags with a blue asterisk. Those flags can't be captured, also they don't give team points, so the map creates new interesting game conditions
- One more music track was added to the game. There are two tracks left before the album will be uploaded on Steam
- Multiplayer synchronization was improved. It's about soldiers logic. Now they should work smoother
- Mouse sensitivity was added to the settings
- An option to switch off chat in multiplayer was added to the settings (one parent asked for those option, so now it's in the game)
- Time limit of 40 minutes was changed to 45 minutes in match settings in lobby menu
- Music repeat bug was fixed. Now you don't get the same track twice in a row
- A bug when the Standard's aura doesn't affect the hero right just after Standard has respawned was fixed
- A sphere of Standard's aura (Press "P") works properly in multiplayer now. The bug was fixed
- Spearman's attack speed has been reduced
- Greek Hoplite's cost was increased from 20 to 25
- Some standards were rebalanced, including the main sign of the Greek Standard was nerfed
- A navigation bug in a roman stone castle on Desert Arena map was fixed
Thank you for your feedback! I keep working on the game. Many of you asked me to implement teams mode. This is a target for the next big update. Also I plan to add some features for multiplayer. After the next update I will return to working on the last missions of the campaign.

New features
- A new map (Desert Arena) is available for Custom Battles and Multiplayer Matches
- Chat in multiplayer lobby
- Now the host can allow/disallow changing settings for clients in MP lobby
- Map list was improved
- Server list was improved, now it shows more information
- New loading screen art was added to the game
- Better match statistics shows GPM and faction without hovering over anything. It helps to share/save match results using screenshots without losing this information
- Also match statistics shows who started in a castle for special maps like Alesia or Alexandria
Balancing
- Easy difficulty became more easier for all the missions. It still opens the maps for multiplayer and custom battles
- A bot with Wall Keeper AI logic now will change his behaviour in the last quarter of the match, so now it's easier to capture the last castle in some missions
- Defensive AI logic was improved this way too
- Reinforcements in Battle of Alesia became little weaker
- Spearmen and swordsmen were slightly rebalanced
- Pharsalus, Nile River and Nicopolis got additional GPM for the flags
Bug fixes
- The bug when player was able to connect to a running game was fixed
- The bug when 4th player comes to the server, but the map is not changed to the one for 4 players was fixed. So now there is no situation when the player does not see himself in a lobby
- Previous and next map buttons now work correctly
- Nicopolis has returned the lost map border
- The bug of overlapping and stuck in-game menus was fixed
- Some replication rules were improved. Now MP should work smoother
What's next?
Before I start working on the last missions of campaign I want to add some additional maps for multiplayer and custom battles, also I want to polish multiplayer. When it's done, I'll start working on the fourth act of the campaing and other features like steam achievements.

Multiplayer is available now. Test your strategy playing against friends on different maps!
According to your many suggestions I started working on multiplayer for Shieldwall. So now I'm happy to invite you to join the open beta of multiplayer! To take a part just download a regular update and then host or join a multiplayer game.
This version is stable and fully playable in multiplayer, but it's not polished enough yet. It may include some hidden issues or bugs, so I need your help to improve it. Feel free to post the actual information in the comments below or in Steam discussions.
Multiplayer in Shieldwall is designed to have fun with friends while playing against each other. So if you're looking for a party to play with check out official Discord.
What's next?
First of all I’m planning to improve multiplayer according to your future feedback. Also I want to create some extra maps designed especially for multiplayer and custom battles.
After this I'll start working on finishing the campaign with the last act - the fourth act will include the last three battles of Caesar. I want to add them to the full release of the game.
This is the main plan. I also want to add some different little improvements and features like Steam Achievements, additional translations, Steam trading cards, new music and some others.

NEW FEATURES
- Shieldwall moved from UE 4.21 to UE 4.26. Now it works on the latest version of the engine!
- New 3 missions were added to the Campaign. The Act 3 is now comleted.
- Persia faction with its own unique heroes, soldiers and Standard now is in the game. It takes part in Missions 12 and 13, and also it's available for custom battles.
- Catapults accuracy was fixed according to your suggetions! Now it has two modes: accurate (previous one) and not accurate. Campaign missions use not accurate one, but you still can play with accurate mode in custom battles.
- Spearmen fighting logic was improved. Spearmen are now more likely to hit from behind an ally, so they became more useful.
- Hire UI was improved. Now you can see health and damage stats of each soldier, also the price of units will be shown correct even under Standard's aura effect.
- The bug of hiring UI on the flag with red star was fixed. Now it's showing up properly.
- The bug of falling through the gates was fixed.
- Missions 4, 5, 9 and 10 were balanced.
- Mission 6 was balanced only on Easy difficulty.
- Now the victory on Easy unlocks the map for custom battles too.
- Standards were little rebalanced.
- Wall Keeper and Hard AI were improved a little.
- The bug with water effect on the map of Alexandria was fixed.
- Some navigation mesh bugs on different maps were fixed.
- Difficulty level changing UI was improved.
- All maps in the game now have a bottom, upon reaching which any character will be teleported to the nearest flag.
- Now you can play with 1.5 GPM factor in custom battles. It's an addition to previous factors of 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0.
- The price of Tier 2 units now is 16 instead of 15.
- Now the game's process has it's own icon (not UE4), finally!
