About the Game

NO AI WAS USED IN THE MAKING OF THIS GAME
Tidy or Treat is a co-op organizing game about putting a Halloween shop back together before October 31st.
All of the halloween items have been pulled from the shelves and left scattered across the floor. A halloween spirit does this every year.
Pick it up, work out where it belongs, and watch the floor slowly reappear.
You Don't Have to Do This Alone
Bring your friends onto the shift and split the floor between up to 4 players. Prefer working quietly? The shop is just as fun to tidy up solo.
Every run is Randomized, Test Your Luck!
Use Trick Cards to your advantage and tidy up the shop faster. Just remember, you are not in control of what happens next!
Learn the Tricks
Call every scattered item of one sort to your hands. Light up everything belonging to the shelf you're facing. Send an armful where it goes without walking it there.
All of it earned by tidying, so the work gets easier at the pace you get better.
One Haunted Night. Four Ways to Clean.
Casual — No clock. No pressure. Clean at your own pace.
Timed — Race against the clock, optimize your route, and chase your fastest completion.
Witching Hour — Every magical ability is unlocked from the beginning. No waiting. No restrictions. Just maximum cleaning power.
No Tricks — No abilities, no shortcuts. Just two hands and a very long night.

The game could get stuck on the loading screen.
Some saves didn't show up when Steam was slow to start.
The scroll wheel could stop working while looking at a shelf.
Some items in big piles couldn't be picked up.
Stairs could play a flood of sounds.
Invite friends from the pause menu without leaving your game.
Footsteps are quieter.
The shop is less bright and less blurry.
Hello!
[p align="start"]Two achievements were bugged. Both are fixed.Fixes
- [p align="start"]"Chucker" could not be earned at all. It now counts items sent home with "Banish", and its description says so: banish a hundred things. The count carries across runs.
- [p align="start"]"Careful Hands" is now a real restraint challenge. Clear a whole shop without casting Banish once.
Hello!
Some small bugs are fixed in this patch.
Fixes
- [p align="start"]Items dropped onto a shelf board could not be picked up again. If a shelf refused an item and you put it down while standing close, it landed on the board and the cursor could never reach it. Those items can now be picked up like any other loose item, and the cursor prefers the item you are actually looking at over the shelf behind it.
- [p align="start"]With full hands, clicking an item on a shelf did nothing and said nothing. It now shows "Hands full".
- [p align="start"]Typing in the feedback box could make the menu jump around: letters like W, A, S, D, Q, E or Enter were also read as menu navigation, which hid the cursor and moved focus mid-sentence. While a text field has the keyboard, keys are just letters. Keyboard navigation is off on the feedback screen entirely; mouse, controller and Escape still work.
- [p align="start"]Changes No Tricks mode no longer shows the card counter, the "stages to next card" bar or the draw prompt, and the draw key does nothing there, since no skills can be earned in that mode.

Hi again!
A localization and skills patch where your skills are much stronger than before!
Fixes
Fixed the skill card descriptions showing in English in every language. They now show in the language you picked.
Fixed the intro message and the message on completing a shop showing in English in every language.
Fixed the messages you get when a join fails, such as a different game version or a full party, showing in English in every language.
Fixed the card counter and the "stages to next card" bar showing in Witching Hour. Every skill is already at its top tier there, so there is nothing to draw and nothing to count.
Changes
Gather and Banish now move more items at higher tiers instead of only recharging faster. Tier 1 moves 1 item, tier 2 moves 2, up to 5 items at tier 5. Gather pulls the nearest items matching the one in your hand, and Banish sends everything you hold to its correct shelf, starting with the item in your hand.
Gather recharge is now 30 seconds at tier 1 down to 20 seconds at tier 5. Banish stays 30 seconds down to 18.
Skill cards now say how many items the tier you are about to get will move.
Thanks to everyone who sent reports and gave feedback, they truly matter!
Hello!
Saves
Your save is kept when you finish a shop. Completed runs no longer disappear when you leave.
Fixed skills disappearing after a patch or after quitting to the menu. If a save had already lost its skills, the cards you spent on them are given back, so you can draw again.
The game now keeps a copy of your save from before this update in the Backup folder next to it, and it will never overwrite that copy. It also refuses to save over a run with a version that has fewer skills or no shelved items.
Fixes
Fixed items turning sideways when a shelf spot was filled. Weapons and everything else now stay exactly as they were placed after the shelf lights up.
Fixed an item that no shelf would accept. A product can no longer take over a second shelf while its own shelf still has room, and a shelf whose product is fully stocked opens its empty spots to others. The shelf tag now tells you why a placement was refused.
Fixed a soft lock where one misplaced item could take over a full shelf. The shelf now belongs to whatever fills it most (excluding Gravestones).
Shelves no longer lock. Every item can be picked back up, even from a full shelf, so a mistake can always be undone.
Fixed the feedback form: typing a letter no longer jumps to the Category selector.
Fixed controller navigation skipping Character when moving down from Play.
Fixed the Reveal cooldown ring not showing. It fills up like Gather and Banish.
Cakes and ice cream scoops face the right way on the shelf. Beholder, Bee, Battle Bee and Bumble sit properly on the board instead of floating.
Changes
Player base speed is now 40% faster.
Each Speed level increases speed by 15% instead of 6%.
Each Capacity level adds two carry slots instead of one. A max Capacity skill has now 15 instead of 10.
Skill cards come sooner. The first few cards need fewer finished stages, and existing saves get the extra cards right away.
A finished shelf spot turns green. A department sign changes when everything that belongs there is shelved.
A bar under your card count shows how close the next card is.
Let me know if you have further issues on either Steam Discussion Page or through the in-game Feedback menu!
Hello!
Changes
Starting a mode that already has a saved run now asks you to confirm before your save is overwritten. The mode buttons sit right next to "Resume", so it was easy to start over by accident and lose your progress.
Hello!
Fixes
Long settings lists open a dropdown instead of cycling one option at a time. Resolution and language no longer make you click through every entry.
Changes
Added a checklist to the pause menu. It lists every department, every item in it, and how many of each belong there, along with how many you have already shelved. It also tells you how many shelves a department has and how they are laid out, so you can see at a glance what is left and where it goes. The intro note now points you to the checklist if you get stuck.
Hello!
First patch after launch.
Fixes
Fixed a crash when alt tabbing out of the game.
The mouse cursor is no longer trapped in the window. It is released as soon as you switch away.
Fixed the cursor staying hidden after you used a controller.
Fixed menu highlighting when a mouse and a controller are both connected. Only one control is highlighted at a time now, and it follows whichever device you last used.
Fixed items counting as shelved but not appearing on the shelf after loading a save.
Feedback now sends reliably. If it cannot reach the server, it retries and sends on its own later if it still cannot.
You can now see yourself emoting in a third-person camera.
Changes
Removed head bob and camera sway. Turning no longer moves the view on
its own, which was causing motion sickness.
Your hand now moves as you walk and jump, instead of the camera.
Removed the camera shake setting.
Changed the environment light.
