About the Game
Welcome to Mt. Holly, the mysterious manor with shifting rooms. In Blue Prince, you embark on a genre-defying experience, filled with a unique mix of mystery, strategy, and puzzles that weave together to create an unpredictable journey. Will your explorative steps lead you to the rumored Room 46?
Upon reaching a closed door in Mt. Holly, you decide what room appears behind it and each decision shapes your path as you navigate through the manor. Every door can reveal new and exciting chambers that contain their own unique challenges and secrets. But be careful how you draft, for each day the manor’s floor plan resets and the rooms you saw today may not be the same rooms you see tomorrow.
Your progress each day is shaped by the rooms you select to draft and the tools you find within them. Items in the game can be used in a number of creative ways to fuel your exploration deeper into the house, allowing you to adopt unique strategies to combat the challenges that each day brings. Yet, tread wisely – the house resets each dawn, erasing all but the permanent upgrades to your estate blueprint. That is, if you were clever enough to find one!
As the heir of Mt. Holly, you have been tasked to explore its shifting halls in search of Room 46. Yet as your journey takes you further into the mansion’s depths, you start to discover that there is more lurking under the surface than a missing room. Investigate a past woven with the threads of blackmail, political intrigue, and the mysterious disappearance of a local children’s book author. The deeper you venture, the more you realize that the past is closer than it appears.

Hello drafters,
We have released patch 1.5 this afternoon for Steam players. This patch addresses a number of issues reported by the community. Save Corruption & Loading Freeze Fixes
We've identified and addressed several edge cases that were causing save file corruption, resulting in a loading freeze when accessing the main menu. Unfortunately, if your save file was affected by these issues, we are sorry to say that means it is corrupted and irretrievable despite our best efforts to find a way to restore it.
This update also includes multiple fixes aimed at preventing these corruption cases from occurring in the future. Several code checks have been added to reduce the chance of corruption including redundant checking of the validity of the save before writing it. Additionally, we’ve implemented an automatic backup system: if the primary save becomes corrupted or lost, a backup save will now load instead. If you are PS Plus user whose save file has been affected by this, we have had a few encouraging reports from users who were able to restore a backup of their save file via Playstation Plus cloud storage. To restore from cloud on PS5 follow these steps:
1. Go to Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings.
2. Select Saved Data (PS5).
3. Choose Download or Delete from Cloud Storage.
4. Select the game and then the specific save file you want to restore.
5. Choose Download.
We are also currently implementing an “IMPORT TROPHY DATA” feature to work with platform achievements that had been previously earned in previous save files (even if they don’t exist in any of your current save files.) This feature will be included in an upcoming patch.
FURTHER CHANGES IN THIS PATCH LISTED BELOW:
Fixed a bug occurring when consecutive Parlor boxes were opened too quickly.
Fixed an input recognition issue on keyboard where \[Right Arrow] and \ were incorrectly interpreted as CONFIRM in certain cases.
Corrected some minor magnification issues and inconsistencies in font usage in the following locations - Library, \Master Bedroom\, \Vault. \
Unified all instances of ‘Mary Matthew’ to a consistent spelling. (One instance had a typo.)
LATE GAME SPOILERS BELOW
\You can now reset rarity changes that you have made to your floorplans. The method is explained in the Conservatory menu as floorplan rarity can only be reset in the Conservatory).\
\The doors powered by remote power boxes are now opened by button press instead of unlocking automatically. These doors will remain permanently unlocked after being opened.\
\A trunk in the Treasure Trove incorrectly displaying the moon symbol has been changed to the sun symbol. (A blue memo was incorrectly being labeled as false.\
We also have corrected a few oversights and bugs in the room drafting logic. Below are listed a few of the resulting technical corrections that may be of interest.
\Master Bedroom will no longer erroneously appear in places other than the East Wing (Rank 9 related bug)\
\Fixed a narrow bug permitting Foundation to be added to the draft pool after repellent use before 7 days had transpired.\
\Foundation will no longer be drawn with as much frequency on Ranks 2 and 3\
\An oversight in outer room drafting logic has been corrected concerning day one and outer room rarities have been slightly flattened across the board.\
The patch is live now on Steam. We expect the patch to be available to Xbox and PlayStation players before the weekend.

Hello drafters,
We have released a patch this afternoon to hotfix a a few issues caused by the introduction of the “hold to skip” cinematic feature in our update last Thursday:
- Fixed a bug introduced by our latest “hold to skip” update that would sometimes remove the Step Count UI if a player briefly pressed escape/back button during a cinematic but did not actually skip it.
- Fixed a bug causing players to fall out of bounds, if they skipped a certain cinematic SAFE H _ _ _ _ ) during a narrow window of timing during that cinematic (around 2.5 seconds after the cinematic started playing.) Now, you can now freely skip this cinematic at any time.
- This one is a bit more spoiling: Fixed an issue that was causing Antechamber Lever pulls to be occasionally off-sync in a certain monk related situation. Players who encountered this bug may have interpreted it as the levers not working, but they were merely functioning backwards. Antechamber levers in this situation will once again work as expected now.
This update is live on Steam now. Xbox and PS5 players should expect to see this update in a day or two.

Hello drafters,
We have released a patch this afternoon to resolve some issues that the community have been experiencing. The patch is now live on Steam and we expect Xbox and PlayStation players to see this before the weekend. As always, the changelog below includes some spoilers.
PlayStation 5 Save Rollback Issue
This patch also includes a fix for the PS5 Save Rollback Issue that was preventing players from progressing their explorations of Mount Holly.
This issue was caused by a duplication of save data causing new save information to time out and not be saved. This problem has now been addressed and players should have no issues progressing and saving the game past the point where the bug was initially encountered.
We have worked tirelessly with Sony to avoid any save files being lost once the game patches. However, content that was not saved during the Rollback Issue has unfortunately been lost. Players should be able to return to Mount Holly at the point where they encountered the bug.
Patch 1.4.5 Changelog:
Fixed the rollback bug that was interfering with saving the game on PlayStation for some users
Fixed a bug occasionally preventing players from entering the highest rank due to a rogue collider.
Fixed a bug that could cause you to lose steps when investigating the east sealed antechamber door while in a gymnasium.
Fixed a potential collider softlock that could occur after digging up treasure in the Cloister.
Fixed a potential collider softlock that could occur after digging up treasure in the Closet.
The experiment “Gain 1 Key, 1 Gem or 1 Gold (selected at random)” has been changed to “Gain 1 Key, 1 Gem, or 1 Die (selected at random)”
Unified all instances of "Christoph" to a consistent spelling.
Typo fixed in Glossary entry for “Directory”.
LATE GAME SPOILER CHANGELOG BELOW - Read at own risk
Boat Ride cinematics can now be once again skipped (this had been disabled because of a soft lock that has also now been fixed.)
Lever pull cinematics can now be skipped.
Added additional safety checks to address reported soft locks some users reported encountering in the Casino.
The 7-letter title in the Gallery now accepts an overlooked regional spelling as a valid solution
Boudoir Safe now accepts one alternate regional solution.
Safes now remain open on subsequent days after unlocking them.
A bug has been fixed in Maid’s Chamber and Servant’s Quarter that would occasionally cause payroll to not spawn.
A bug has been fixed in an upgraded guest bedroom that was causing a one-time trigger to occur multiple times.
EVEN DEEPER SPOILER CHANGELOG BELOW
Edited the wording of “Question 33” to provide more clarity. The solution remains unchanged.
Cleaned up the mathematical symbols of “Question 46” to provide more clarity. The solution remains unchanged.
Unified Date formatting in terminal logs for consistency.
Repositioned a (Blue Tents) memo in a ‘found floorplan’ to fix a bug causing it to occasionally not appear. (no content change)
The experiment that “lowers water” will now be replaced with an experiment variation that “raises water” if there is not currently any water to lower.
The experiment “Each time you view your map, lose 10 steps and then” has been changed to “The next 10 times you view your map, lose 10 steps and then”
The experiment “Gain 1 Key for every 40 steps you have” has been changed to “Gain 1 Key for every 30 steps you have”
The experiment “Gain 1 Key, 1 Gem or 1 Gold (selected at random)” has been changed to “Gain 1 Key, 1 Gem, or 1 Die (selected at random)”
On Day One, the trunk in the bedroom will no longer only appear after the first draft.
We would also like to add that we are currently working on a feature to use the Blackbridge Terminal’s “IMPORT TROPHY DATA” feature to work with platform achievements that have been previously earned (even if they don’t exist in any of your current save files.) We expect this feature to be completed soon and will be included in an upcoming patch, thank you for your patience.
The Path to 1.10
It had always been my dream to release a definitive version of the game at launch. I’m a big fan of complete standalone experiences and it was never my plan to continually tinker with the game with regular content updates, room rebalancing, or DLC and the like. Considering this is my first game, I’m extremely proud of everything I managed to include for launch, but there are a few minor things that were not quite completed before our release date that I feel must be added to fulfill that original vision
Those inclusions will be added in 1.10, which will be the final major update to the game. It will be the definitive version of the game.
Among the planned inclusions in this final update: an overhyped arcade game, a curious house cat, accessibility features like color assist mode, controls remapping, cursor size/opacity settings, and widescreen support. Some UI/UX improvements, more variations for end-of-day manor descriptions and accompanying house illustrations, HUD display customization, final room/item balancing, and the addition of a handful of extra cinematics that I am still working on (the unlockable challenge modes actually have their own unique openings and endings!)
NOTE: We will continue to release bug-fixing patches intermittently in the months leading up to 1.10 and some of these updates may preemptively roll out some of the above-mentioned features (we wouldn’t want to sit on accessibility features for months on end while we wait on cinematics!) And while 1.10 will be the last planned content update, we will, of course, continually be committed to fixing bugs for far, far into the future.
