About the Game
Omelet You Cook from solo developer Dan Schumacher is a cozy-chaotic cooking roguelike where you assemble omelets for an increasingly demanding student cafeteria, ingredients arriving on a conveyor belt, with score thresholds and round modifiers ramping up over each run. The "roguelike" framing means each run feels different — Principal Clucker introduces new restrictions, hazards (literally chickens running across the prep area), and ingredient combinations that reward experimentation.
It's small in scope but tightly designed — the kind of indie that runs full-tilt on a Steam Deck and earns its replayability through the deep combinatorial space of which weird ingredients actually work together. Released February 2026, the patch cadence has been steady; this is build 21838995.
Released with CSF + Goldberg, fully offline-playable. 157 MB installed. Single-player only.

Balance Changes
Replaced Brie with Goat Cheese in Scoochie Special
We were noticing chefs weren't unlocking starter pantries as quickly as we'd like. This change means you only need to score a bit with the common Cucumber to unlock this pantry
Brie gives 0.5x to Fruit instead of 0.4x
Since Fruit is more specialty than the Texture/Preparation tags, it makes sense to be a lil better

Small day 1 patch here to fix a couple obvious issues. There's still some other issues we're working through and will probably have another patch or 2 over the coming days. In particular I'm aware the Wrapped pantry (specifically Corn and probably other pointers) is buggy.
Fixed bug where chefs could play Black Apron before beating the final pantry
This was an accident, sorry for those of you who "unlocked" Black Apron who will no longer have access. The intent is that you earn the right to play the highest difficulty after beating the story. Feel free to use the "Unlock All" feature if you really want to jump ahead
Fixed bug where game would soft lock after runs when losing on Round 13/14 of the Clucker Pantry
Fixed some achievements that weren't hooked up properly
Added 1 last missing achievement to bring us to 99

Fixed bug where earning enough points with a locked ingredient (usually from a Weekly) wouldn't trigger Principal Clucker's dialogue

Green Apron + Classic Starter Pantry has a new boss: Teacher version of Jane Clucker
Previous Teacher (Lady Lana) had Egg Layer + Superstitious. Jane has Egg Layer + Child.
I made this change because this is the first boss chefs encounter while they're still learning the game. Superstitious requires the more complex strategy of adjusting ingredients with your dragged ingredient and can catch the player off guard.

For most players, this will just work and you shouldn't notice anything different.
After you update, whichever device you first launch the game on will be the one that is synced to the cloud. This could lead to an issue where you have most progress on device A but you open it first on device B. Fortunately there's a fairly straightforward fix:
On the device with your preferred save data:
- Navigate to the folder located at "{USER}/AppData/LocalLow/SchuBoxGames/OmeletYouCook"
- Copy the most recent save file with lots of numbers followed by "_save.json"
- Open the folder named after those same numbers (generated after the first time you open the game)
- Delete the save file with the same name
- Paste the old save file to replace it
