About the Game
Sudden Strike 4 sends you off on three extensive campaigns set amongst the battlefields of World War II.
Commanding the Allied, German or Soviet troops, you will lead over 100 different units into battle; like the German bomber Heinkel He111, the Russian T-34 tank, the British Hawker Typhoon fighter plane and the notorious German Panzerkampfwagen VI "Tiger".
In a first for the Sudden Strike series, you can now choose from one of nine individual commanders, such as George Patton or Bernard Montgomery, who will each allow for different approaches to combat and boast unique abilities.
Prove your strategic expertise in over 20 demanding singleplayer scenarios and the challenge-focused skirmish mode.
Exploit the weak spots of tanks, set up an ambush, occupy buildings with infantry, outmaneuver the enemy with clever positioning or unleash devastating air strikes – how you approach each mission is up to you!
Modding support with Steam Workshop integration.

Commanders,
we have released a small hotfix for Sudden Strike 4’s latest version 1.15, which includes the following changes:
Fixes
- Fixed a bug, which prevented players from finishing the Pacific War DLC’s first US mission in challenge mode.
- Fixed a bug which incorrectly displayed 40 stars for the Allied campaign in the vanilla game, instead of 28.
- Fixed a bug that caused tanks to disappear when selecting a deployed MG and a tank and then giving the order to “pack up”.
The new free content update 1.15 will be rolled out today and adds three new story-oriented bonus missions to the game.
These missions focus on telling heroic stories, while bending some of the rules you’ve previously become accustomed to.
After the update has been applied to your game, you can access the new missions from the main menu.

Lead a Ranger squad to destroy a German High Command building, which will result in a great disruption of the German chain of command and allows you to plan an imminent landing operation. - Behind Enemy Lines
After a rough landing in enemy territory, your goal is to get your men back to the main Allied forces in one piece. Tactical planing, stealth action and patience is the key in this mission as you look for opportunities to bring your men back safely. - Desert Raid
Lead a squad of commandos from the infamous Long Range Desert Group, steal vehicles and wreak havoc on the enemy deep behind the Italian front lines in Africa. Consider your moves well, if you want to survive.

The new Skirmish & Multiplayer AI Update has been released.
With this update, players will now have the option to call for assistance from the AI during skirmish and multiplayer matches to help in capturing or defending strategic positions, as well as assault assistance in selected locations. Use the corresponding icons above the minimap to access these help requests.

Mark W. Clark - Armored Doctrine
The veteran of WWI, US military leader Mark Wayne Clark commanded the American Fifth Army and 15th Army Group during the Allied invasion of Italy. He lead the attack that captured Rome during the campaign and earned the rank of General by the war’s end. Clark was an expert in infantry tactics and warfare.
Utilizing unique Allied tank hunter units and a specialized skill set, this commander opens new tactical opportunities to defeat your opponents.
Destroy your enemies with the new A39 Tortoise tank destroyer and obliterate any oposition with the A43 Black Prince heavy tank.

Doctrine skill rework
- Reworked the improved camouflage skill, which now allows the vehicles affected by it to remain hidden, even in open terrain.
Group selection rework
- Players have the opportunity to select a subset of the selected unit with the TAB key, which will allow you to use the unit's skills more effectively.

Custom Key Bindings
- Added the community requested feature for you to be able to customize the key bindings. You can find it in Settings -> Mouse and keyboard layout menu.
Extended Ping functionality
- Added two new ping actions in Multiplayer battles to ask your teammates for defensive and offensive support.
Doctrine skill rework
- Reworked the APCR ammo doctrine skill, which will now penetrate half of the target's armor, instead of giving a flat damage bonus.
