About the Game
EMBARK ON A CO-OP EXPEDITION FOR UP TO 4 PLAYERS
In the cursed and hostile jungle, danger lurks around every corner. Lovecraftian horrors warp reality as madness closes in, while you explore ever deeper in search of infinite riches buried within The Mound.
MADNESS SYSTEM AND ALTERED PERCEPTION
Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft‘s oppressive atmospheres, the game features a deep madness system that makes the cursed jungle play with your perception. Unpredictable threats distort your senses, blur the line between reality and illusion, and sow paranoia within your group.
Soon you can no longer trust what you see and what you hear.
AN EXPEDITION INTO THE UNKNOWN
Aboard the galleon, prepare for your next expedition. Sign a contract with the captain to receive gear in exchange for the treasures you bring back, split weapons and equipment among your party, and choose which area of the jungle to explore next. The further you venture, the greater the dangers you will face.
The cursed jungle does not only breed the strangest of creatures. Something is also playing with your mind over there.
IN SEARCH OF THE MOUND
Once on the mainland, you are on your own, relying on spatialized voice chat to coordinate against unpredictable threats and gather what riches you can.
Discover abandoned forts during your expedition and recover their logbooks to unlock them as new starting point for future expeditions.
Venture ever deeper in the cursed jungle in search of The Mound, rumored to hold treasures beyond imagination.

What's Coming Next
We're currently working on crossplay:
After looking into it, Crossplay is working fine, but we have indeed identified an issue whereby you cannot invite your friends to play via Crossplay. We are currently working on a fix and will do our best to provide it as soon as possible, making crossplay invitations easier and more reliable.
In the meantime, the available workaround is to find your friends’ server in the online server list. We realise that this method is inconvenient and apologise again for any trouble caused.
Thank you for all your feedback, it helps us better identify and resolve these issues.
We're also working on a block and counterattack system for certain weapons. We want to give players more tools in critical moments without removing the threat that close-range combat should feel like. We're taking our time to get that balance right... with many more fixes and improvements.
There's a lot more to come!

A new build is live for the Steam Next Fest Demo. Here's what changed.
Improvements & New Features
Weapon looting from corpses - you can now pick up weapons directly from enemy bodies. One less reason to go in empty-handed.
Two new sanity effects added to the rotation. We're not telling you what they are. You'll know.
Guidebook codex pages can now be discovered across the mainland - piece together more of what The Mound doesn't want you to know.
Firearm ammo drops now carry more bullets per pickup, and undead enemies have a slightly higher chance of dropping them.
Additional weapons and ammo placed in select areas.
Appraiser sentiment improved - gear brought back from missions is evaluated more favourably.
Subtitle font size option added to the settings menu.
Several interface visual improvements.
Improved Huemul behaviour.
Bug Fixes
Players can no longer go into token debt.
Fixed a stretching polygons bug in the onboarding area.
Players now crouch in first person when picking up bodies.
Fixed time warnings from the forest state not appearing.
The Map item no longer behaves like the Medallion item.
Multiple minor issues addressed.
Keep the reports coming - the demo is shaping the launch build, and every piece of feedback helps.
The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu launches July 15 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
