Official update history
Changes:
-Fixed some rending glitches when it came to Unity tree sprites in modded maps. Trees in the distance did not correctly interact with fog and lighting, and also bugged out in water.
-We added laser arrows and with witches spell to projectiles.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! Modders keep up the great work!
-Custom human and non humanoid animations are now supported.
-Remaining animation fixes characters guns flying off, as well as characters lying down completely fixed.
-Lod bug fixed which caused distant characters to sometimes not render at all.
-Character mod setup script update. Download link here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1whnrBVXZVCKPtF4pXdZwrlDE3vVcDcB1/view?usp=drive_link
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!
-2 new animation presets added to the character mod setup script for mod developers. Animations include, "Zombie" and "One hand pistol"
-Accuracy added to ranged settings in mod setup for developers.
-Another issue fixed which caused mods to not import. Issue steamed from users subscribing to blank uploaded mods which had no content attached, causing Steam to return a null file location for mod folder.
-Some animation bugs fixed for mods which often caused the characters animation to briefly lie down flat (We are still working through other animation issues).
Here is the new download link for the updated mod tools for developers. The link on the tutorial thread was also update: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-rWDxAvv_IE59LBY2UDHPdNAOe_McnvD/view?usp=drive_link
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Steps:
-Make sure you have subscribed to mods. Run the game and confirm that none are active(Bottom right corner text says how many mods are active)
-Once you have confirmed this, navigate to the output log. It's usually located as a text file 'output_log' in C:\Users\YourWindowsUsername\AppData\LocalLow\Brilliant Game Studios\UEBS2.
-Email the text file to [email protected]
Our bug squashing continues with this latest patch which attempts to fix both mods not showing up, and unit scaling/stats issues. Both issues are determined to be regional based issues.
-Fixed(hopefully) mods not showing up in game. Issue was due to folder extensions in code not work in languages other than English. We fixed this issue by fetching the folder locations of every installed mod directly through Steams API.
-Fixed unit scaling issues along with other stat based issues that used decimal values. Another regional number parsing issue caused by decimal numbers using ',' instead of '.'.
Let us know if any of these issues still persist. Hope everyone is having a great week.
UPDATE: Since this hotfix we have been working on a new fix Incoming tonight or early tomorrow. We have discovered the cause for strange scaling of mod units as well as other related issues. It appears it is caused by how decimal numbers are handled in different regions. We are also working hard to solve the issue of mods not showing up.
-Some efforts were made to attempt fix the issue where no mods show up. (We were unable to replicate the issues here, so it's all guess work on our end)
-Error messages added to game initialization to help catch issues with mods, or other import issues that may help us debug more potential problems.
-New 'mods active' text added to bottom right of menu, to tell users how many mods were successfully imported.
-Bugs fixed with 'custom unit' mods, where they would not correctly load into the unit customizer.
Hope everyone is having a fantastic week. Let us know if you are having any other issues.
-Pathfinding bug fixed which caused the black hole effect and mass suicide.
-Reduced bunching/crowding along wall and cliff edges.
Wednesday Hotfix:
We continue to improve pathfinding bugs and execution. We apologize for some of the previous bugs introduced, pathfinding has undergone a great deal of changes the past weeks, which can inevitably introduce new bugs. We feel with the latest fixes, it's now in a good place.
Friday Hotfix:
-Some issues with RTS and new pathfinding fixed. Mainly the issue where units would not respond to enemies even though they had arrive at ordered destination.
-Another pathfinding improvement for diagonal navigation. Change helped improve formation and spread.
-Pathfinding fix that often caused pathfinding bugs when searching out large units such as tanks.
Let us know if you find any other issues!
-Rank Shape/No Load bug fixed. Error happened for users in European and some other regions, where a text function was expecting a comma instead of a period for decimal numbers in Rank Shape. This caused a single error which lead to a chain reaction of errors which stopped levels from loading. Hence the reason some stated changing the rank shape to a whole number fixed the issue.
-In menu graphics card test added (Tests for DX 11.1 features). Unfortunately there are some older graphics cards that will likely never be able to run UEBS2(Such as the GTX 600-700 series and under). Red text will show on the bottom of your screen if your card is not compatible. Note that there are some graphics cards that even 'claim' they are DX 11.1 compatible, such as the GTX 880M, however they are still missing DX11.1 features UEBS2 requires. For more information please see this wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feature_levels_in_Direct3D
-Finally, Chunk Norris is now completely invincible!
Hope everyone is having a fantastic week!
-Battle reset button. This will help with loosing armies off screen as well as being able to start from scratch.
-Performance warnings adjusted(It was getting a little carried away with large maps).
-Vsync added to menu.
We hope you have a fantastic weekend everyone! Thanks again for your amazing support!
-Fixed loading hang/crash on battle initialization (We tested on 3 different Nvida PCs).
-Added a skip option for battle initialization (This risks AI navigation not working well at the start of battle).
-Added new warning for placing armies too far apart.
-Buffed 'Noah's Flood' god power.
