Steam Patch Notes
Official update history
Hello Adventurers!
We're popping in to post some minor updates as we're working on some fixes for future stuff!
Here's a list of the minor updates which are mainly optimization and bug fixes:
Unity Engine Security Vulnerability
The unity engine had a security vulnerability which required developers to update and patch their games
Enemy optimization
Monster spawn sound effects were playing even if they were spawning out of the player's sight (from a far distance) - we've cleaned this up to cut down too many sounds being played at one time
Enemies now more accurately detect hazard positions and will be less likely to perish before you see them
Minor Fixes
Food cooked in the restaurant now spawns on the closest counter to the cooking tool
Objects/walls in dungeon that were using the wrong material when turning transparent are now using the right material
A new (invisible) headpiece attachment was created each time Pom wakes up in the bedroom
Slight optimization of pathfinding execution
Thanks for listening!
Love,
Battlebrew Productions (and Pom)
A new patch has gone live now that should resolve the infinite loading issue some players are having. Thank you to everyone that has sent files in and helped us isolate the problem.
Also, an update was issued this morning, so those that were having problems with achievements should see them working now.
Thank you for your patience!
Love,
Battlebrew Productions (and Pom)
We realised that there were missing translations for our new features and have patched the game to ensure that the text in your gaming language is in!
Thank you for your patience!

Hope you're all having a lovely day~ This is a small update for two bugs that we've found!
- There was a bug where players would fall through the ground, the chances of it happens has been greatly reduced! Hopefully it does not happen anymore!
- Previously the oustanding payment would not decrease if players paid partially. With this fix, the debt payment UI should be fully functional when players pay their Cuisineer League fees, regardless if they paid partially or in full!
Love,
Battlebrew Productions (and Pom)
We are back with another short patch update! This round we’ve added a few important features~
FRAMERATE SETTINGS
- We’ve added framerate settings!
(Note: As this option is overridden by VSync, you will need to uncheck VSync to use it)
ATTACK DIRECTION OPTION
- Toggleable option in Settings for players to choose if they want to attack in the direction Pom is facing or from the mouse cursor position!
DUNGEON
- Entrance rooms will no longer connect to exit rooms if they are adjacent to each other.
- Pathfinding optimizations which will help improve FPS in dungeons.
QoL UPDATES and MINOR FIXES
- Shop UI animation update:
- All resources that the player is lacking to purchase/upgrade with will vibrate.
- Claim button will vibrate when the player attempts to claim equipment but does not have space in their inventory.
- Upgrade button will vibrate if the player is lacking all required resources.
- All resources that the player is lacking to purchase/upgrade with will vibrate.
- Texture updates and optimization on more models!
- Umami effect VFX and material colours have been tweaked so they're more obvious in Frozen Fjord.
- Boss name will change to the correct font according to the language selected.
- When spending resources, they are taken from the last slot instead of the first.
Thank you for reading and we can’t wait to see you again for the next update!
Love,
Battebrew Productions (and Pom)
GRAPHICS SETTINGS
- Implementation of VSync. This will help with screen stuttering and tearing.
- Implementation of Windowed Mode & Borderless Full Screen.
UI/UX IMPROVEMENTS
- Reworked how the date is visualized:
- Date now represents the current date of the season and not the overall days passed (you can still see that in your save file).
- All icons for days of the week are shown, the current day is selected.
- Changed the seasons from icons to text.
- Date now represents the current date of the season and not the overall days passed (you can still see that in your save file).
LOADING SCREEN
- We’ve added a new loading screen as a visual update between game scenes! You will still see the previous loading screen when you travel between the town and dungeons.
COMBAT FIXES
- Rice sprites, Pewtatos and Tommays are now weakened thanks to the power of balancing!
- The projectiles that split from the initial projectile from Pewtatoes now deal less damage.
LOCALIZATION FIXES
- Controller Disconnected localization is now properly implemented.
- In-game text that was missing should now be included.
MORE TIME BEFORE BED WHEN RETURNING FROM DUNGEONS
- Players will now return home from the dungeons at 10pm instead of 11pm, so you have more time to complete quests and do other stuff!
UNSEASONED DIFFICULTY
- Select this brand new easy mode to have Pom take 80% less damage!
CUSTOMER PREFERENCES
- We've seen your feedback regarding customers ordering mainly pizzas and any other dishes that use fatty/tough meat, cheese, and flour after having upgraded your restaurants. We've therefore done a bit of balancing to ensure customers will order more types of dishes~
VFX UPDATES
- VFX for breakable props have an added active sparkle, hopefully making what is breakable clearer.
- Optimization for more VFX textures.
- Colour tints for different flavours (mod effects) have been improved.
- Throwing plates and Dad VFX improvement and polish.
Thank you for waiting patiently, and we hope to come back with another minor patch soon!
In the mean time, while we’re working on fixing even more stuff up, we hope you’ll consider us for a STEAM Awards nomination!

These are the things that have been fixed and tweaked in this week's patch, but we are still working on other parts of the game as previously mentioned in Update #1 - Flavoursome Fixes!
AUDIO
- You can toggle on/off eating sounds in restaurant in Options Menu!
- Ambient volumes and loot collection audio have been tweaked based off player feedback.
INVENTORY
- All materials and ingredients now stack up to 30! You can collect more during your dungeon runs!
CONTROLLER DISCONNECT
- The game should now automatically pause when controller is disconnected! Just plug it back in or hit a key on the keyboard to return to game!
SAVING & PLAYTIME
- Play hours in UI screens that pause time should now be tracked by the save file!
- Save game files will make a backup of themselves before attempting a new save, to prevent progress loss. (In case of critical failure only 1 day progress should be lost)
CRAVING DAYS
- A clear buff has been tweaked to ensure that customers are actually craving dishes requiring the ingredient craving! (Buff has been increased from 10% to 50%)
BREWER
- Brewing your weapons for new mods now start from 100 coins (500 previously).
- The increasing cost for constantly re-brewing your weapon also grows slower, and will cap at 3k coins (which takes about 50 brews to reach that cost).
COMBAT/DUNGEON
- We've buffed up Bitter and Toasty stacks, and the sweetened defense buff!
- Bitter stacks buff (Buffed to 10 stacks, from 5)
- Sweetened defense buff (10% to 30% as a base status)
- Toasty stacks buff (Buffed to 5 stacks, from 3)
- Bitter stacks buff (Buffed to 10 stacks, from 5)
- There have been a few minor tweaks with Alpha Bullie and Clawber for a fairer fight.
- When dashing, you will not be affected by environment hazard damage (looking at you, mala).
KEYBIND ISSUES
- Keybind blacklist keys are bigger now.
- LT/RT keybind issues have been fixed.
- Bug where movement and dash is unusable if binded to mouse has been fixed.
(if an action or key does not seem to work, do try resetting all the keybinds to default.) - UI navigation is now rebindable to help with AZERTY keyboards.
- Fixed bug when players bound inventory open/close to mouse but were not able to close the inventory.
INVENTORY/FRIDGE/CHEST FORCEFULLY CLOSING ISSUE
- You will not be automatically kicked out of your inventory/fridge/chest once the clock hits midnight. (However, do note that time is still running.)
OTHER BUG FIXES AND OPTIMIZATION
- We've fixed a bug where the restaurant reputation bar infinitely loads.
- Invalid buff icons which were showing up on boss health bars have been fixed and removed.
- The Shield Crab shield FX should now be properly played to allow players to react accordingly.
- Minor animation and graphic issues in game have been fixed.
- Models have been optimized further, hopefully this will help improve game performance.
- No more clipping UI when you switch from a wider to narrower resolution.
CUISINEER WIKI
- We are currently setting up the base of the wiki, we apologize as this is taking a little longer than we expected. Hopefully we can come back with a separate update for this!
---------------------------
You might read this and wonder: why are there certain fixes faster than others?
Some issues unfortunately take more time to fix and test to ensure no new bugs pop up.
Overall, we thank you for your understanding that we are a small team of developers who are doing our best on our first PC game.
We will continue to keep working on the game and fixing all that we can.
Hope to come back with more updates in the future!
Love,
Battlebrew Productions (and Pom)
