Steam Patch Notes
Official update history
We've just released a small hotfix to address a recent security vulnerability discovered in the Unity engine.
This issue affected a wide range of games across the industry. Importantly, Unity has confirmed there is no evidence of this vulnerability being used against any players.
Our new patch ensures our game is fully protected. Steam will download this update automatically. No further action is needed from you, other than ensuring your game is up to date.
Thank you for your understanding!
- Delivery Tray fixed: Only finished food goes to the tray. Tools, containers, and equipment no longer get sent by mistake.
- No accidental double-pick: If you already hold an ingredient, baskets won’t hand you another one.
- More reliable cooking surfaces: Ingredients sitting on other equipment are no longer treated as if they’re on the current one. The fryer ignores liquids and won’t grab items from the wrong parent.
- Fairer order ratings & smarter recipe recognition: The game better understands custom orders with wishes and won’t confuse them with similar recipes.
For example: there was a case where a Sub‑Orbital Sandwich with excluded ingredients became identical to an Orbital Sandwich and got rejected — now the system recognizes this and the customer accepts the custom order. - Perfect means 100%: Flawlessly prepared dishes now correctly show a full 100% score (no more 98–99% for perfection).
- “Vegan Menu” coupon availability tweaked: This coupon now appears only on planets/kitchens where a reasonable variety of vegan burgers can be cooked, avoiding situations with a menu reduced to just drinks or a single dish.
- Smoother co‑op gameplay: Reduced micro‑lags and stutters thanks to networking optimizations.
- Improved LAN connectivity: More reliable local play: better local IP selection with a safe fallback.
- Stability: Various background tweaks to improve overall reliability.
macOS Beta (testing)
macOS support is available in beta and not yet officially listed on the store page while we finish full testing. You can try it now via the Steam beta branch (no password).
How to enable the beta on macOS (or any platform):
- Open your Steam Library
- Right‑click Galaxy Burger → Properties
- Go to the Betas tab
- Choose the branch: beta (no password required)
- Close the window — Steam will download the beta. To return to stable, set Betas to “None”.

We’ve tested networking features (including LAN), and cross‑play between Windows and macOS worked smoothly in our tests. You can play together in the same co‑op session without issues.
Please report any macOS issues (graphics, input, performance, stability) via the Steam Discussions — your feedback will help us finalize macOS support.
Thanks for playing, and see you in the kitchen!
Kitchen Customization Rules
We heard you loud and clear! Many of you accidentally moved kitchen equipment with a misclick, and we know how frustrating that can be. To fix this, we've added a new "Kitchen Rules" section on the first page of the recipe book in "My Kitchen" mode.
You can now lock your kitchen equipment in place. In co-op, you can also stop friends from rearranging your carefully organized kitchen. These rules apply to all your kitchens.
Bug Squashing & Improvements
This update also brings a bunch of important fixes to improve your gameplay:
- Fixed freezes when dropping boards loaded with ingredients.
- Resolved a bug with food containers when dragging a board with a food container ingredient near another one.
- Fixed a bug where clients could get stuck on a loading screen if the host quickly clicked "continue" in the coupons dialog.
- Fixed an issue with dragging and dropping food onto sauce bottles.
- Improved performance when you're using a lot of sauces.
- Smashed a critical bug where you could pick up two items at once (like a cup and a lid), blocking you from doing anything. This was especially easy to do when item stacks were close together.
- Ingredients on a board will no longer interact with cooktops or fryers while you move them around.
- We've made several other small fixes and optimizations to the network code for better stability and fewer crashes. We're still hunting down all crash-related bugs.
- Fixed the widget for our other games in the main menu for all languages. Buttons were sometimes displayed incorrectly, and the description text was often cut off.
Thank you for your continued support and feedback! We hope these changes make your culinary adventures in Galaxy Burger even more fun.
Happy cooking!
Galactic Workshop team.
We've just rolled out a small update to make your game experience even more enjoyable.
The main highlight: We've lowered the unlock requirement for My Kitchen from 4 stars on a planet to just 3. Now you can get to personalizing your space even sooner!
We also want to give a massive shout-out to all of you for your incredible support and feedback. We're reading every single comment under the news posts and on the forums. Over the next week, we’ll be focusing on fixing the issues you've reported. While we can't promise to fix everything at once, we're committed to tackling as much as we can.
Thanks,
The Galactic Workshop Team
Fixes
- Fixed an issue where large numbers caused problems in co-op mode for some players.
- Fixed a bug where customers ordered custom burgers with ingredients excluded from the menu via vegan and similar coupons.
- Fixed the 'Fresh Shield' coupon for red bell peppers.
- Fixed shift bonus-style coupons that were not functioning correctly.
We’re excited to bring you a small update. Honestly, the last two weeks haven’t been very productive for us since we needed some time off to unwind and relax after a long, intense development period. However, we’re still hard at work on a big update, and we’ll announce it very soon.
New
- Added autosaving before and after each customer during a shift. Now you won’t have to worry about losing progress during endless shifts.
- Added Finnish localization, thanks to our fan Emmi.
Fixes and Improvements
- Fixed customer visits on Photon Planet in Proxima, affecting only the first shift on this planet.
- Fixed the behavior of the help translation button in the main menu; it now opens a dedicated link on our forum.
- Fixed the strange cursor behavior when your gamepad has a drifting stick issue.
- Fixed ingredients freezing when dragged across the delivery food tray screens.
- Fixed the raw chicken patty issue where it had the "edible" flag, causing customers not to react when given raw chicken.
- Fixed flying ingredients that disappeared when flying across their baskets.
- Fixed a co-op bug where ingredients could be placed in the wrong spots if your partner was grabbing ingredients from the same position as you.
New
- Added Polish language. Huge thanks to our player Jakub "Linshi" Plichta for his hard work on the translation! If you want to switch to Polish, press the button with the Chinese character in the menu and select Polish there.
Fixes and Improvements
- Fixed a bug where customers could request to remove an ingredient that wasn't in the recipe (most commonly with vegan customers).
- Improved allergic customers: for example, customers with an onion allergy will no longer order onion rings. The allergens are now displayed on receipts.
- Fixed a bug with phantom customers at the order counter, which occurred mostly when clicking on delivery screens.
- Fixed an issue where tongs would get stuck when handling eggs.
- Optimized performance when a large amount of sauce is applied to ingredients.
- Fixed an issue where large amounts of spilled sauce would start disappearing.
- Fixed a bug where sauce bottles could be placed on the automatic order belt.
- Fixed an issue where player data was not syncing correctly after recreating a session on the same planet in co-op mode.
- Fixed interface bugs where windows would overlap incorrectly.
- Corrected the display of the maximum reputation stars in the save menu — previously, it showed the maximum stars of the current star system.
- Improved switching between mouse and gamepad controls — now, moving the mouse or gamepad stick will automatically switch the input. Previously, some players thought mouse and keyboard controls were not working.
- Fixed an issue where the coffee machine stream would shrink and disappear after pressing the buttons repeatedly.
- Fixed bugs related to the Esc key and the back button on gamepads, where it wouldn’t always close the expected window.
- Fixed an issue where the frying sound would play if an object was placed near the fryer.
- Fixed a bug where warp jump achievements to different systems weren’t tracking correctly for non-host players in co-op mode.
P.S. We read all your comments and feedback. We may not be able to reply to everyone right away, but we’re listening! Several fans have reached out about helping with translations, and we haven’t responded to all emails yet. Don’t worry — we’ll get back to you! I go through the emails every morning. =)
In this update we have fixed errors and inaccuracies in the Chinese localization of the game.
This small update was supposed to be released yesterday, but we didn't make it in time.
P.S. Other updates, patches, and improvements to the game will be coming this week and next week.
- Fixed and improved the Japanese localization of the game. Huge thanks to Tyronne Crisfield for the help (still in progress).
P.S. Improvements to the Chinese localization will be released tomorrow or the day after.
- Fixed a bug in co-op mode where, if a new player joined while others were already in the kitchen, everyone except the host was kicked back to the Lobby scene.
- Fixed a bug in co-op mode where items could sometimes become locked and inaccessible to other players. Many instances of this issue have been resolved, but some may still remain.
- Fixed a rare issue in co-op mode where dishes or ingredients flying over the trash bin would get sucked into it.
- Fixed an issue where text on dialog buttons did not appear in Asian languages.
- Fixed a missing translation for the universe name in the delete save dialog.
- Fixed an issue where, if a player's save file was corrupted, all game slots would disappear from the main menu. A save file recovery feature has been added.
- Addressed other minor issues and synchronization bugs in co-op mode.
- Slightly optimized game performance in co-op mode with a large number of players.
P.S. We are still working on fixing co-op mode bugs and issues. We are also refining the game's Chinese localization. New fixes and improvements will be available next week.
- Fixed: In co-op, in some situations the order contents were not synchronized correctly.
- Fixed a magic bug, sometimes dishes would spontaneously fly into the garbage bins.
At the moment we are actively working on finding and correcting errors in Japanese and Chinese translations. In the coming days we will release patches with improved translation.
Improvements
- Added a "Close Kitchen" button to the Esc menu for convenience.
- Decreased the cost of all ingredients by 20%.
- Reduced the reputation points required to achieve 4 and 5 stars on each planet by 40%.
- Reduced the reputation points required to achieve stars on Alpha Centauri.
- Removed extra annoying sounds when breaking eggs; now only a clean egg-breaking sound plays.
- Changed: the VSync option is now disabled by default to avoid freezing and graphic issues on some devices.
Fixed
- In co-op: Fixed synchronization of Shy visitors' orders between players.
- Fixed an issue where tongs wouldn't disappear after breaking eggs, causing them to stay with the broken egg. We hope we finally fixed it =)
- Fixed cases of 100% ratings being given with only 99 reputation points in visitors' feedback on their orders.
Localization
- Fixed many errors in the Korean translation thanks to our fans from South Korea: Sangbin Cho & Yujung Han (조상빈 & 한유정).
- Added a special button in the main menu and the "About" scene that opens an email to us for helping with translation fixes.
