In the beginning, there was the King.
From a thought, he conjured up the Void.
From a glance, he made the world.
And from a whisper, he created us.
The world as it was is gone, lost with the disappearance of the King. As a Wanderer of these forsaken lands, it is up to you to piece together the fragments of reality and retrace the fall of civilisation through skill based combat, innovative open-world platforming and the testimonies of survivors… some more trustworthy than others.
Ethereal exploration and epic battles
A ruined continent of untold stories and mighty foes is yours to roam. For those who brave its paths, the world of Hypnos contains many secrets, some to aid you on your way and others to illuminate the road that led to your existence. Experience precision based combat and 2.5D platforming set to a complex branching narrative in the reality spanning action-adventure of Shattered - Tale of the Forgotten King.

Features:
A new world to discover: Explore a gorgeously rendered semi-open world with branching paths and mysterious secrets. Each new zone tells a story through stunning art direction and finely crafted design.
Monstrous enemies to defeat: Observe your foes, anticipate their moves and use their own attacks against them. Switch between close-combat sword fights and long distance spell slinging to dominate the battlefield, and experience seamless transitions between full 3D and 2.5D battles.
A tale 10 years in the making: The universe of Shattered is the culmination of over a decade’s worth of imagination and creativity: an epic reality conjured from the minds at Redlock Studio. Tale of the Forgotten King is but a first step into the world of Hypnos, with more games already planned.
A story all your own: Not all survivors of Hypnos are trustworthy: though most will help you on your way, there are those who seek to use you for their own ends. The world will remember the choices you make during your adventure, and only those with focus and dedication will see through to the truth beyond.
Constant progression: Whether through combat or exploration, the Wanderer will evolve. How is up to you. With your finite resources will you raise your strength or discover another truth of Hypnos? Buy a new weapon, or increase your spellcasting? The choice is yours but choose carefully: not every path can be taken.
« I had travelled through forgotten paths for days, weeks and months to reach the Thousand-Door Palace. A place where only silence reigned now. Where the wind had stopped and the tides retreated with the Great Rift. The great Departure.
And here I was, bathed in my mist of past and future memories, standing in this mythical place that remained, still. The only location anyone in Hypnos could have found with no map or compass back when the King still reigned.

Thank you so much for your quick feedback and positive comments on the last update, we're so glad you liked it ♥
We've been able to make a little hotfix, since a few problematic bugs had shown up.
Here it is:
• Fix of the crashes that happened when fighting the Stranger and Gheb
• Fix of display bugs in the binding menu
• Fix of the freeze that happened when you used a Mark from the inventory
• The casting bar of the Marks no longer stays on the screen afterwards
• Loot still appears even if you hide the HUD
• Fix of the link between Limbo and the door of Khotar
• Legionaries now have a thrust attack with a wider dash, and gained a few adjustments on their AI
• Damage reduction for the charged attacks, light and heavy
• The door of Khotar can't be skipped anymore
• We also made a few display corrections on certain maps.

We made a quick fix for this 11th build!
Let us know if you find anything else, but that should finish fixing everything we've heard of ♥
Bugfixes:
- Stamina now charges back normally when backstabbing right after an attack
- If you try to parry when your stamina is too low, the parry will still work
- Fixed the bug that shrinked the jump (that was really fun though)
- Once open, the puzzle door will stay open! Yay!
Optimization:
- Ancient lands have been optimized to improve framerates
- Hod's arena has been optimized to also improve framerates
- Light optimization of load times
Changes :
- Backstabs and counter attacks now take stamina. Careful!
- You cannot parry with the ether bolt anymore. Careful :D
- Added new sounds in the level up UI!

We noticed a few bugs had come up with the last update, so we made a quick fix before the next major patch notes :)
BUGFIX:
- Foes won't aggro on respawn anymore.
- Stamina doesn't recharge during the heavy attacks animations anymore.
- Players won't be able to move in the Quick Access section through the consumables options in the inventory.
- Players won't be able to “negatively use” a consumable (that happened when spamming the using button during UI animations).
- Items won't stack instead of being deleted during updates of the inventory.
- Wrong textures were displayed when hoevering buttons from the consumable options.
- No more glitches on QA clicking!
- No more getting stuck after respawning at the second well in the Limbo.
- You won't lose your looted keys anymore. We had the inventory swear it: it will save all of them.
MODIFICATIONS / ADDITIONS:
- Aerial attack nerf: it deals less damage, takes more stamina and has a much more important landing lag. Yes, it was needed. You know it.
- Striking a Legionary will only stun them once, then they'll finish their current attack no matter what.
- Click anywhere else to exit the Quick Access selection in the main UI.
- Click on the background to exit the consumable options.
Long time no see, dear Wanderers! We hope you're all doing well. Contrarily to what our month-long silence may have let you think, we didn't stop working on Shattered, we just decided to go a little bit easier and reduce our neverending work days for this crazy hot august month.
Here is the result of our summery work :D
ADDITIONS:
- The Chorozon mark, which teleports you back to the Limbo
- The Whisperer mark, which teleports you to the last activated Limbo Well
(this one is located at the heart of Limbo, where the Whisperer is.)
- A sprint attack: if you press the attack input while sprinting, the Wanderer will slide on the ground for a few meters then slash with his sword.
- A new Catalyser! We are trying a more conventionnal approach with healing: an item that contains healing charges that you refill at a Limbo Well. Right now there is only one charge, and you cannot upgrade it yet, so we left the old one aswell.
MODIFICATIONS:
- We changed the AI for most of the basic ennemies. They will now try to not overlap each other with their attacks. Hopefully fighting 1v5 should be fairer now.
- But beware, they also learned how to do longer combos.
- We are also starting to implement different levels of Legionnaires (the main foes): some will be tougher with slightly different animations and patterns.
- We also changed the Wanderer's attacks: they are faster, cost less stamina but do less damages.
- Gheb invocations have less health.
- The elite monsters' and bosses' strikes take longer to launch.
- We are trying something on the jump: only the double jump will now cost stamina, not the regular one.
BUGFIX:
- A lot of collision bugs with the basic ennemies are fixed. Hitting ennemies should feel more responsive and rewarding now.
- Sword collisions are now way more consistant and accurate.
- Level Up menu fixed! You won't lose your essences when exiting the menu anymore.
We are aware of bugs around the inventory and menus (sometimes you have to double click to open a sub-menu), we are working to fix that as soon as possible.
We deactivated the E key in the menu (the confirmation key) for now because of a lot of bugs associated to it, we will fix it soon and bring it back.

Wanderers, the war against infinite load screens has been declared! With this update, you shouldn't be getting anything like this anymore.

We sacrificed all our coffee stock to the mystic gods of UE4, so it should work.
ADDITION:
- Option to "invert Y-axis" in the controls menu
BUG FIX:
- Better framerate in the Ancient Lands and Serene Cliff
- Fix of The Stranger who didn't want to spawn
- Fix of The Stranger who did spawn but didn't move (and became an automatic turret)

We've been writing down all your feedback and suggestions, and we have a lot of ideas on how we're going to drastically improve the game feel. It will take a bit of time, though.

- Tips on the ground in the tutorial in the beginning are now also about mouse & keyboard
- Option to pick your right keyboard layout before you start playing (QWERTY or AZERTY)
- Possibility to see the keyboard/gamepad controls in the menu "Controls" (not possible to rebind your keyboard YET, we're working on it for the next update)
- A boss' position has been changed, to be found more easily (it appears some of them were a bit too well hidden!)
BUG FIX:
- Difficulties of navigation in the menus
- Text for the Limbo Well is now in English
WHAT'S NEXT:
- We're currently fixing the bug preventing you from accessing the castle after the boss Hod (infinite loading screen).
- We're working on the possibility to remap your keyboard the way you like.
